The Power of Positive Thinking & Visualization!

I met a dude who I haven't seen in years at a local bar today. He was telling us (I was with my buddies) how his whole life changed by a lecture he attended 3 years ago about The Power Of Positive Thinking.

He told us that if you think about what you want and visualize it, you'll get it eventually. Things like personal issues, being unsuccessfull, girl problems, work problems....etc.

He told us how he started to think only positively and visualize good things and they'd happen to happen.

So I wanted to ask you guys: Do you believe in the Power Of Positive Thinking and Visualization?..do you really think visualizing something you really want and thinking it's gonna happen.......it will actually happen? Do you have a firm opinion on this subject?

    Share your opinion.

No. At least not in the sense that you put it. Something can't just come true by you imagining it, you have to go out and work to get it. Even so, not everything is attainable and even if you imagine something, you may get it but it probably won't be the same as the visual you had when you were dreaming about it years earlier.

Can it work? Yes, but visualizing dreams for a period of time won't just magically make them come true later on. You have to be active in working towards it.

Work problems? I can see it helping dramatically if you have girl problems. Most girls don't want a guy that doesn't know what he wants...they see you all happy/positive and they want [what] you [have].

Just being positive will make others associate happiness with you. Don't push it though. I remember when I use to treat girls like ****, well, more like being straight up with them, and it gets you where you want to be fast. If your looking for a relationship, than yea, think positively around them, be yourself, and you will be fine.

I believe in having a dream and working hard for it.

I don't believe visualising it will make it happen.

there is a similar zen buddhist technique where you make complete focus on the exact moment your in, have a complete consentration of everything while your in it, and power that focus into whatever your doing. kobe used the technique when he scored 81, Phil taught it to him, jordan was taught it aswell i beleive, again by phil. so there are ways, or rather techniques or methods you can use to perform better in the moment, but to succeed in the future is up to everything in between so i dont think this kind of thing can be certain.

He saves it up and unleashes it's power every now and then. Just like... nah, I won't go there.

Defeats the principle. You gotta be humble.

Okay, it changed his life, yet he's still in a bar? Hmmm......sounds a bit fishy to me......I think only thinking positive makes you ignore what bad things are happening, so it's like they don't happen but they still do......yano.

Lol, I was wondering the same thing.

I can really relate to him, and I think a lot of you guys are missing the point.

I think he's saying that when you don't dwell on the negatives in your life, and just get happiness out of the simple things, you start to expect less, be more confident, attract more friends, and just be happy in general.
