I have been one of Tice's harder critics this past year, but I've got to give credit where credit is due. The past three weeks has shown that either Tice is not as bad as I thought, or he's suddenly starting to 'get it'. He had a lot of adversity facing him after the 2-5 record, yet somehow he's given this town a bit of hope. Granted, only one of the three wins has been against a respectable team (no offense GB), but you cannot take anything away from him for winning a game that he should win.

I hope things continue. I will continue to be skeptical, but kudos to Tice for doing a great job the last few weeks.

I think the Defense could have got a blessing in disguise when Culpepper went down, they finally realised they had to start winning games for the vikings.

I know he is not showing MVP numbers but let's remember that Brad Johnson led the Bucs to a superbowl!

You gotta know what u'r doing to lead a team to the Superbowl

HAHa I think the vikes have a chance to get back in the divisional race. Willl they come back and beat the bears for the division?? No but theyll finish strongly.

LOL...I was thinking along those lines.

I think having Brad Johnson in at QB has helped in one regard - no one is relying on one player to win a game. This team genuinely has no stars. Johnson is not a star, Moore is not a star, Burleson is not a star. No one has really stood out as being the most exceptional player (I guess Pat Williams has been the most visible, but at his weight you kind of have to be).

I do wish we had Culepper in at QB, though. I think we could be blowing teams out with a QB who has some zip on his throws. Don't get me wrong, though, Johnson is the league's best QB.

    Hey cmon now. LOL

I agree with you, the best player on our defense this year has been Pat Williams. It seems like he is always stuffing run plays. I do think that the reason why we are getting better QB play is because our O-line has stepped up the past few weeks. Yeah Culpepper has more zip on his throws, but he has always thrown the ball way too late.

Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Burleson fan, but this year has not been his year. Injuries have really hurt him. I also suspect being throw into the #1 receiver spot with high expectations, along with a horrible offense so far this year, has hurt his chances at being a real star in the league.

Culppeper has always thrown the ball late, and it is nice to see Johnson actually exploit a blitz like Pep should. But if you ask me to pick one of the two as a starting QB, I would go with Culpepper every time.

Believe me, I agree with you on Burleson 100%. I had high hopes of him this year, along with Williamson, but thats another story. I just would've liked to have seen Culpepper play with an O-Line this year. I think he wouldve had a lot better number.

So I am wondering now, do you guys think Tice should be fired if, say, he rattles of 6 wins in a row and gets the Vikings to the playoffs?

6 wins in a row is not too difficult at this point. He has 3 in a row, we play Cleveland this week (which will be tough), Detroit next week, and the Rams without Bulger the week after that. 6 wins in a row could easily put us within 1 game out of first place, or tied for first, with Chicago closing out the season.

I am a little conflicted. I think Tice has done a horrible job in some respects, but if he continues to win, then I will have to say that he pulled off one of the greatest turnarounds ever. What could he do with a full staff and a real offensive coordinator?

If Tice gets the team to the playoffs you almost have to think he'll be back. That would be a hell of a job he did with a team that seemed to be threw. As much as I hate Tice and don't think he should be an NFL coach, you almost have to respect the guy for keeping the team together and turning it around.

I think that the chances that they will keep winning are very slim. Inconsistent running game. Passing game still only avg at best with brunell, defense has huge holes in it still. Only won last few games on extraordinary TO margins, and special teams plays, not the kind of thing that happens for rest of a season

Its Brad Johnson, not Brunell. The defense is actually looking very good, although we haven't played any good teams of late. In addition, the Vikings only have two tough games left in Pittsburgh and Chicago. The rest should be easy wins.

I think the team has confidence now. It's good to have one of my teams winning in the NFL. I hope they win the North but catching Chicago is going to be tough. The Bears look really good this season. Right now I'm thinking Chicago @ Seattle in the NFC Title game but Minnesota has def become a sleeper in the NFC.

5 games left with 2 game cushion, and 1 game left vs vikes. If they win that game, It will just about clinch the division, if vikes win, it will be a challenge. Both teams still play steelers, However, I am hoping roth isnt at full strength vs bears, but is vs vikes [IMG]
