I think the Rockets will be better if they remain at the sixth spot come playoff time. Latest news has the Sonics missing Vladimir Radmanovic for about 4 to 6 weeks due to stress fracture injury. Other than that the Rockets play better on the road compared to a lots disappointing loss at home. They seem to increase their intensity while away from home. Although gaining the 4th spot and a home court advantage would seem be possible and within reach for the Rockets. But with the Mavs' players finally starts to get healthy they would be tough to beat. I just hope the Grizzlies won't overtake the Rockets, especially now that we don't have Juwan Howard. The Grizzlies are also better off at the 7th spot because they have the capability to beat out the Suns. With the Sonics' increasing odds/chances of being one of the top 4 teams to get eliminated on the first round, the Rockets, Kings and Grizzlies would surely be comfortable on the sixth spot.

I have full confidence that this team can ball with anyone bar the Spurs. I wouldn't wanna do bad on purpose just to keep the Sixth spot. If Memphis really turns in up, we'd be Seventh having to play the Suns. The Rockets should be trying to get the Fourth Seed, but losing to the likes of Boston (no offense, but I think the Rockets are flat out better), is not a good way to garnish those hopes. If we lose to Minny, then we can kiss Fourth good-bye, because we have to be near perfect running into mid April.
You have a good point Magno. No matter what happens playing your best in the last few games of the season would be a good preparation come playoff time. The most important thing will be building your confidence. We know that nobody wants to face the Rockets in the playoffs as they have capability of pulling it out with their improved offensive game as well as their trademark in defense. The Rockets must take pride in that and use it at their own advantage.
I think the rockets are prettfy much stuck in the 6th spot. The gizzlies have a tough schedule left and so do the rockets. We have 2 games due vs seattle and peonix each, another one in san antonio and tuesday we play the HEat. The Grizzlies have 2 games vs San Antonio and Dallas each, and one vs seattle, miami, and pheonix. For the most part, the scedule looks pretty even. There is one game left between the two teams, in houston. I dont see any need to get a better spot, we have a much better chance vs seattle than dallas. And if the grizz beat the suns and we beat seattle, both teams can go head to head. We might win that matchup and then get to go to the conf finals.
Sixth would be just fine. As optimistic as I can be at times, Dallas is not a team we can contend with. Seattle has shown signs of cracking already and they should be the team in the top four most likely to lose in the first round of the playoffs. We've also beaten them on the road before, and our home affair was also very competitive. We can definitely at least push the series to seven games.
Looks like we might get stuck falling back to 7th or maybe 8th with the nuggets and grizz getting back key players and the rockets losing howard. If we do fall to 7th, we play the spurs and duncan wont be at his best because of that injury so maybe we will win, then beat seattle, and then maybe even the finals.
well right now were losing because the team hasnt worked that much with weatherspoon as a starter and a padget as a backup hopefully we can improve their games and we might be able to win against the cavs and the hornets.. maybe we have a chance agains the heat but that is a very slim chance but ima keep my fingers crossed and ope for the best
if rockets play like when they won 6 straight games, they really have a good chance in sixth spot, especially since radmanovic is injured.. its kind of even out juwan howard's injury.. and does anybody know bout reay allen's condition? i read that he was injured during sonics vs lakers game
Almost every top four team now is having trouble. Seattle lost Radmanovic, San Antonio lost Duncan, Dallas lost Don Nelson, and Phoenix is having fourth quarter flameouts, and Sacramento haven't been able to be quite the same without Webber. Even with us losing all those games, the Kings are still just half a game ahead of us. If the Grizz get Gasol back and make a run, it's very possible that they'd grab fifth, while we maintain sixth and Sacramento drops to seventh.
yea but dallas is getting back all the people from the injured list, and it isnt avery's first time coaching without nelson so i dont think they will do that bad.
