    3rd Quarter Scoring: Rank #1 27.8 (Last 3, 32.0 PPQ)

    4th Quarter Scoring: Rank #7 26.2 (Last 3 29.7 PPQ)

    Average 2nd half Margin: #2 +5.3

    Total Rebounding %: #7 @ 51.5%

    Opponent's 3rd Quarter PPQ: #5 @ 23

    Opponent's % points from 3 pointers: #1 @ 16.6%

    Opponent's Fast Break Efficiency: #8 @ 1.492

    Opponent's Average biggest lead: #2 @ 8.3

    Opponent's Points from 3 pointers: #2 @ 16.7

    Opponent's true shooting %: #10 @ 104%

    Opponent's Assists per game: #2 @ 18.6

    Opponent's Assists per FGM: #1 @ 0.478

There are more, but this site really breaks down everything you need for players and teams.

What these stats prove are teams are forced to beat us in ISO situations. We disrupt the flow of games and take away the wide open looks. We are a very potent 3rd quarter team and we take care of the ball. We won't let you hit those 3's, plus we don't foul.

Wow. When you really break it down, we are not a bad defensive team at all! The total rebound % is a strong indicator of good defense as well.

Except that TRB% is boosted a ton by our great offensive rebounding. We're second in the league with a 30% ORB%. We're 24th in DRB%.

It's true that the opponent's offensive rebounding is low, but our offensive rebounding differential is much higher than our opponents.

    Opponent's - 11.8
    Ours - 13

So we may give up the offensive boards, we still win the battle. And remember that our FG% is pretty high; which means we miss a lot less than our opponent's, giving them a buffer to grab more boards.

Our FG% 45.9%, while our opponents are getting 45%. 1% point our of 80 shots, is 8 more misses than us.

If people aren't sold on rebounding by now, after playing Detroit 15 to 18 on the O glass (47-53 total), I submit the next evening when Detroit played a rested Pacer team, in Indiana, who boasted and under 90 pt opponent score (and allowed 111 points). 20-9 for Detroit on the O glass, and 55-40 total.

Yeah, it's obviously a plus to win rebounding battle. Was more specifically responding to his comment about how TRB% shows good defense, but it really doesn't since our DRB% is poor.

I'm of the opinion that defense is what happens before a rebound occurs. But that's just me. ;)

Not to be a stickler, but 1% of 80 is 0.8, not 8.

    1% of 80 is not 8.

Again, was strictly responding to the comment about TRB% being a sign of our good defense.

Wasn't correcting or objecting, just adding. ;)
