Currently in the Premier League we have what most people refer to as the top 4 who year in year out are virtually guarenteed a place in the Champions League and there is always one of them in the final of the FA Cup or thereabouts. However do you think this situation can remain? I admit, I can not see Chelsea or Manchester United leaving the top 4 unless Roman leaves. However i can hardly say Liverpool and Arsenal's place is safe. If Gerrard or Carragher or even both get seiously injured Liverpool would be nowhere and it hardly looks as if they have great youth coming through after their 6-3 thrashing at the hands of Arsenal. Without Henry and Van Persie, Arsenal hardly look convincing too and have been slightly exposed with Aliadiere up front. Admittedly the future does look bright for them with their youth but there is no hiding the fact that they are a long way off 2nd place and have not won anything for two years. In terms of who could join the top 4, there is Tottenham who made their assault last year and they certainly have the opportunity to prove their credentials in Europe. Their only weak point has to be their defence with no clean sheets in 20 odd games. Another team to consider must bce Newcastle we their huge fanbase and looking at their midfield their is certainly a lot of potential given the signing of a defender and a decent striker to partner Martins. There is obviously Villa who have a large stadium, a good manager and the backing of a good chairman. Remember Chelsea before Abramovich. Then Everton, Bolton (But I can't see them doing it despite their current position). Maybe West Ham will be alright when they get promoted. Theres an outside chance! Obviously none of these clubs have the financial pulling power of the top 4 but given a successful run in Europe and two seasons when one of them does not get Champions' League spot who knows. Also with the likes of Randy Lerner they might get the finances. What do you think?
Liverpool have new investors? I see some quality signings coming in. And Carragher, how injury prone is he? Same as Gerrard really.
