QUOTE

    Jason Kidd
Season averages: 11.3 points, 37.7 percent shooting, 10.4 assists, 8.7 rebounds

Think Western Conference teams with money who are contenders or have an unhappy superstar. Dallas or the Los Angeles Lakers with Kobe Bryant would seem to be likeliest destinations for Kidd, but they have to put together a package of young guys, bigs and expiring contracts to make Thorn consider it. Understandably, Thorn wants a lot for his franchise player. Bruce Ratner wants to keep Kidd. But if no other moves can be made or nothing improves by February, Kidd should be gone by the trade deadline.

    Sean Williams
Season averages: 6.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.94 blocks, 18.6 minutes

He can help the Nets now with his energy and athleticism, but can't find consistent minutes in the rotation. They won't move him unless it's in a package for someone who makes them an instant contender.

    Richard Jefferson
Season averages: 24.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists

He's having a career year, proving his ankles are healthy. But right now, there's a big drop off in interest from Kidd and Williams to Jefferson. In this luxury-tax environment Jefferson's contract, which pays him $54.6 million through 2010-11, has been a deterrent for teams. If he keeps playing well, he may help the Nets move him by February.

    Bostjan Nachbar
Season averages: 9.9 points, 38.4 percent shooting, 32.2 percent threes

He's in the last year of his deal ($2.5 million) so he has some value. The Nets would rather keep him, and would like to see him play better.

    Josh Boone
Season averages: 2.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 11.6 minutes

The second-year big man is active, a good offensive rebounder and doesn't make that much money — $1.1 million this year and $1.2 million. He's a good throw in.

    Antoine Wright
Season averages: 9.5 points, 3.2 rebounds

He's had some good moments offensively and done a good job defensively. He's another player with an expiring contract ($1.686 mill) that could entice a team since he'll come off their books.

    Jamaal Magloire
Season averages: 2.4 points, 4.6 rebounds

He's either going to prove to be a valuable big man on the court or a valuable asset in negotiations since he makes just $4 million for this season.

    Marcus Williams
    Season averages: Hasn't played

He would draw plenty of interest and be near the top had he not had right-foot surgery in October. The backup point guard practiced for the first time on Thursday. He has to start playing and show he's OK. Interest will grow as the February trade deadline approaches.

    Nenad Krstic
Season averages: 4.9 points, 3.3 rebounds

The big man has little to no value because he's still not back from January left ACL surgery. He would be in the top three or four otherwise. Indiana was interested in Krstic over the summer, but he's hurt himself by having a setback and having been shut down.

    Malik Allen
Season averages: 5.3 points, 3.2 rebounds

He's a good role player with an expiring contract who could help any team, the Nets included.

    Vince Carter
Season averages: 20.2 points, 46.3 percent shooting, 5.1 rebounds, 4.1 assists

Teams don't want Carter, who signed a four-year deal that includes a partial fifth-year guarantee that will pay him $66 million overall in July. The Nets were bidding against themselves.

    Jason Collins
Season averages: 1.2 points, 2.5 rebounds

Something big would have to go with him, like a Kidd, Williams or Jefferson, and that may not get it done. Collins' salary — $6.1 million this year, $6.2 million next year — and minimal production make him tough to move. Maybe next year when the pact is just about done, if the Nets add picks and some money, they can move him.

    Darrell Armstrong
Season averages: 2.9 points, 1.3 assists

He has an expiring contract also, but since he was signed in October the veteran point guard isn't eligible to be traded until January.

I got this from one of the links in a Nets Daily blub, but didn't see this list being discussed on the forum. Do you guys agree/disagree with the list? I figured it would be a good reference, or something to bash :-)

If they could only trade me to be closer to Jessica Alba and my baby, I could bring back 2 whole teams and a billion dollars!
