The challenge is, there are no trusted news sources out there. OK, well, that which is trusted by one segment is generally scoffed at by another. Simply the times we live in now. That said, I do appreciated Alex bringing us his inside scoop. Hey, Sly....on a semi-interrelated (yet seemingly relevant?) subject, did you get to check out this site? https://perceptiongap.us/
I'm gonna disagree with you. I trust PBS The News Hour, Fareed Zakaria's Global Public Square and to a slightly lesser degree MSNBC. I also trust the New York Times as well as the Washington Post. These news sources require confirmation before they report something usually from three independent sources but always from at least two independent sources or they don't report it. Oh yeah, I also trust BBC.
well, we are all aware that the truth isn't always the truth. Someone famous (or is that infamous) once made that quote.
Start with knowing majority of what trump states is false as he lies. It's pretty easy to fact check trump as I think even you are capable of that.
Yeah, there's no reason not to trust the reporting of the PBS News Hour, New York Times, Washington Post or the BBC. They've all had sterling records for reporting facts over their history. The only reason some Republicans "scoff" at them is because they don't report what those Republicans want to hear. I can understand MSNBC being considered biased, because they are. I do like Fareed Zakaria quite a lot. I'm going to blow some minds here and point out that Fox News' reporting arm is actually fine. They tend to report facts and their polls, once you account for house effects (which most polls have) are decent. It's their opinion shows, which dominate the network, that are toxic garbage.
The "news" arm of Fox News is fine. It's the "opinion" arm of Fox News that is horse shit. Sadly, of their lineup, the majority of it seems to be of the "opinion" arm. Hummanity, that drunk Judge, Mother Tucker, Idiots and Friends and Ingram make up like 10 hours of broadcasting or more.
Took the test. I got the best score. The highest score. No one has ever seen scores like this. Joe Biden couldn't get a score this good.
Interesting test, though by making the questions so black and white, it makes it hard to answer them or to judge the other party on them. Looks like I have a lower perception gap when assessing Republicans than independents do. Mostly missed on Republicans' self-reported racial and gender views (though, again, the questions are overbroad). I find it funny that one of my bigger misses was that I assumed more Republicans viewed Trump as a "flawed person" than actually do. In other words, in a place where you might say I chose against type (not assuming Republicans consider Trump a perfect god-emperor) I got it quite wrong, ha.
Seems like the questions weren't really an accurate way to figure out where someone falls on the spectrum (or compared to it).
I got 7%. Nailed sexism exactly, but was way off on racism. Gave Republicans too much credit for climate. barfo
All massively and totally FAR LEFT MOUTHPIECES. And Lanny, I hate to break it to you but there's no such thing as an "independent source".
