The TWolves "War Room" - Poster Mock

    All Timberwolves Fans:

Justbball.com will be putting together 2 mocks drafts as part of an ON-SITE contest, shortly after the NBA lottery Draft on May 26th.

One mock will be done by the moderators/admins and the other will be by the posters of JBB. It's going to be a little contest to see who can get a more accurate mock for draft day. Please remember, It's all for fun. [IMG]

As you can see, a few posters have been asked to help with pulling together the posters mock draft. We need your help and input to do this, so now we're coming to you!

Here's what we need (i.e.- the RULES):

    1. Posters interested in having thier draft thoughts considered should submit, up to 5 names of players that you think your team will want to draft on draft day. Remember that these need to be realistic, not pipe dreams. Up to 5 players that you believe your team is scouting and may take in the drafts first round.

    2. For those who are really into mocks, you may submit to us via PM (please) your entire first round mock. It must be complete however. We realize that this is going to be more difficult, given that the lottery places are yet to be filled. However, we'll accept submissions up to midnight, May 28th EST. (After that, anything recieved will have to wait to be included in any updates we make after releasing the mock)

    3. If you are going to propose a trade with any of your draft picks (Maximum limit = 1 draft related trade proposal), JUSTIFICATION must be provided. It must be reasonable and work under the CBA. Any trades proposed without this information WILL BE DISCARDED without further thought.

This announcement will be posted and stickied in all team forums as well, so please try to participate if you have ideas. We want the posters mock to be a quality one that can stand side by side with the mods mock.

Thanks and we look forward to your comments.

Those with full mocks, can submit them up to May 27th VIA PM, to og15, wtwalker77 or hagrid.

What happens if the team doesn't have a first round pick like the Wolves?

The Knicks are in the same boat, with thier only pick this year being the #41 pick in the 2nd round.

We'll find a way to include the teams not having a first rounder. I'm not sure how, but we want everyone to participate that wants to, so we'll make it work. [IMG]

I guess Knicks and Twolves fans will have to work harder and figure out who would be there in the late stages of round 2

Because we got Joe Smith someway and it was an unfair or wrong move or something so we lose draft picks until next draft, I think?

But I thought Commisioner Stern cut the penalty down because we drafted Mr. Ebi last year.

We will have to wait until the 2006 draft for a first round draft pick but the Wolves can still trade for a draft pick.

That pissses me off so much because joe smith isnt even on our roster no more since he was traded last summer to the bucks why should we still have to take that penalty for a player that is no longer on our pay role.

Anyway this year in the second round there should be a couple good players left Im hoping that because of his size jameer nelson falls to the second round he is my favorite player in this draft so I would love to see him with the wolves even though our biggest need is the 5.

But hopefully we will be able to find some steal in the second round like in the past second round steals like players such as mobley, RJ, and Luke did good for the lakers this year. Although we could very well move up since the magic might be tring to do something else with that pick and also we could possible get a pick from someone like the celts or something.

I don't like it as well that we still have to forfeit our 1st round draft picks. But I don't think Nelson will fall that low in the draft. We only have the 59th pick, so it's unlikely Nelson will go so low. I don't think we will get any good players from this year's draft unless we trade for a pick.

We didn't trade for the Ebi pick. David Stern later gave the Wolves the 2003 and 2005 1st round picks back. They got them back because of "good behavior." I'm sure Stern realized the punishment was a little harsh, especailly since many people believed that under the table deals went on with many teams before the Joe Smith disaster. The wolves screwed up, but the NBA did want to make their punishment sting, and it has.

Oh, that I didn't know. I thought we had traded for it. Thanks for clearing it up.
