TUF has condensed the qualification fights into one episode this season so next week we pick teams and get the ball rolling.

Hard to get much out of these fights. A few of the fighters looked good but you can't be sure of the level of competition.

The season preview highlights at the end of the episode gave away some of the picks but I'll keep that to myself.

I was a little surprised they put Nam Pham in against Mike Budnik considering those are the two most well-known fighters.

Things are off to a bad start for Team Koscheck.

GSP's plan of printing Marc Stevens' name on his list in big bold letters was enough to confuse Josh Koscheck, leading Koscheck to pick Stevens first out of fear he would be selected by St. Pierre. This allowed St. Pierre to take the guy he really wanted, Michael Johnson, as if he had won the pick AND the fight.

Then Bruce Leroy defeated Jeff Lentz by triangle choke. I really thought Lentz had that fight up until the slam attempt.

So St. Pierre gets his first pick, picks the first fight, gets control, and is about to pick the second fight.

That was a nice triangle. He held that tight through all the squirming.

I like how earlier in the episode Lentz says if you choke him he'll go unconscious instead of tapping only to tap out in the end.

I had a feeling he was going to lose by some kind of choke after they aired that. They kind of gave it away.

I think we'll see GSP line up one of the wrestlers (Johnson or Brookins) to face the Brit or Nam Phan next.

Caceres said his teammates didn't want to fight and were whining about being banged up from the last fight, hopefully someone is ready to go.

There's always one guy on the Ultimate Fighter who stands out on personality alone. Leroy is definitely that guy. Busts me up how he just smiles and smiles the whole time he's fighting, no matter what.

He's going to lose, though. The book is pretty obvious on him. Shove him against the wall and dirty box. He doesn't seem to have any idea how to get out of it, which is kind of weird for a nimble athletic guy like him. He was out-classed striking (his supposed strong suit) and out-classed dirty boxing/judo.

lol. He should just fall down and use his guard in every fight. But that's not exactly Bruce Lee's style.

lol. The guy should seriously get an agent and become an actor. Tell me he wouldn't be an awesome "wacky neighbor" on some sitcom along the lines of Kramer on Seinfeld.

Good fight. Doubt started to creep in regarding Johnson after the first round, and him looking tired in the second. But in the third round he showed why both teams thought he was the best fighter in the house, jumping into the round ferociously and swinging hammers from top position.

Tyson added an interesting dynamic to the episode but didn't seem to contribute much. Hopefully next week we get to see him showing what he still has.

Koscheck's car door prank has to rank as one of the lamest so far for the series.

Kos also broke out what has to be one of the gayest things I've ever heard a fighter say on this episode: "I'm going to get in [GSP's] face and motorboat his ass."

    Oh no.

I had no idea who Gia Sissaouri was so I looked him up.

Born in Georgia (the country), part of Canadian national wrestling team for over a decade.

Bantamweight Silver medalist at the 1996 summer games (Atlanta).

Yeah, I gotta say that there really isn't that sense of animosity between coaches that I like to see. I mean Rashad Evans and Rampage Jackson really seemed like they wanted to murder each other. Tito Ortiz' level of prickishness was right up there, and was a nice contrast to the Iceman's big dumb asshole.

GSP is just too nice, and it seems like a foregone conclusion to me that he's just going to beat Koschek again just like last time when they finally fight. GSP knows it, so he doesn't get that excited about what happens between now and then. I don't blame him, but it makes for bad reality TV.

Anyway, I was stunned at how fiery Johnson was in that third round. I thought it was going to devolve into two gassed guys heartlessly pawing at each other, which is what usually happens on the show when it goes to three. But Johnson came out like he wanted to eat the guy's children and maybe chew on an ear or two in that third round. Holy fuck.

He just has another gear that these other guys probably don't have. If he can get it into the third round in every fight, it's hard to see him losing.
