ALRIGHT, there's have been a lot of threads regarding the best starting 5. Now I challenge you to create the ultimate team in NBA history with 5 starters, 5 bench players, 2 reserve player, and a coach of course. You must factor in the "team chemistry". So you can't have a lineup of MJ, Wilt, Magic, Bird, Oscar, etc.. because MJ, Wilt, and Oscar have too much ego. Also take into account that every players will be in their prime when you selected. If you can explain your reasoning, that would be interesting too. My Ultimate Team PG: Magic Johnson SG: Michael Jordan SF: Scottie Pippen PF: Bill Russel C: Kareem Adul Jabar Bench: PG: John Stockton SG: Jerry West SF: AK47 PF: Elton Brand C: Ben Wallace Reserve: C: Hakeem SG: Kobe Bryant Coach: Phil Jackson My reasoning: It is clear who team it is here, MJ. Magic is an unselfish player, he won't have a hard time defering to MJ for the last shot. Kareem is also one of the most unselfish big man in NBA history. Russel is a winner and as long as we're winning and play good defense, he doesn't care who team it is or how much he will score. Scottie Pippen is one of the greatest role player or player that do a lot other than scoring. In term of team chemistry, I think they will all be happy playing with one another.
I can't think of a single thing Ben Wallace does better than Hakeem Olajuwon. I'd probably swap those two. I think I'd prefer Oscar's size and versatility over Jerry West as well. Your backup guards (outside of Kobe) are rather smallish.
PG: Bob Cousy SG: Michael Jordan SF: George Gervin PF: Karl Malone C: David Robinson PG: Magic Johnson SG: Elgin Baylor SF: Julius Erving PF: Charles Barkely C: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Reserve SG: Dwyane Wade PF: Dwight Howard Pat Riley
PG- Magic Johnson SG- Michael Jordan SF- Scotte Pippen PF- Bill Russell C- Wilt Chamberlain. That would be my starting 5 if it meant my life.

Consider Hakeem and Kareem are two of the top 5 center inhistory, there is noway either one of them want to be on the bench. Also I decided to put Kareem as a starter over Hakeem was the fact that Kareem and Magic had some chemistry with each other. Ben Wallace is the best backup defensive beast and with all the great players on one team, Ben will just be a hustler . Someone who brings in the intensity on the defensive end when he substitutes in for Kareem or Russel. Oscar, his skill can be comparable to MJ or maybe even better, therefore's noway he prefers to be Jordan's sub. Jerry West is another story, the guy is one of the most unselfish superstar in the history. With Jordan as a starting SG, West probably on the bench and that won't cause any clash between because it is clear Jordan > West. antonyo09 - your starting lineup consists of MJ and George Gervin won't work IMO. When you have two great scorers, that's a disaster.
PG - John Stockton - Mainly his ability to distribute the ball, one of the more underrated players in NBA history being that he doesn't have a ring. SG - Michael Jordan - G.O.A.T. They'll be the Kobe's, the Lebron's, the Iverson's, but this guy started it all. SF - Julius Erving - Seeing him and Jordan on the same team would be crazy. PF - Karl Malone - Just his chemistry with Stockton amazes me, plus he's a physical specimen. C - Moses Malone - Personally my favorite player of all time.
Skill/talent does equal ego. I doubt Hakeem would have a big problem being a part of a Best of All-Time Team, even on the bench.
I like C.K.'s team, but I would change two things. PG: John Stockton, great defender, amazing distributer SG: Michael Jordan, duh SF: Julius Erving, same reason as C.K. PF: Kevin Garnett, he is extremely unselfish, would have no problem differring C: Bill Russell, imagine KG and Bill Russell playing defense and rebounding together. Bench: Pete Maravich, Dennis Rodman, Elgin Baylor Coach: John Wooden
