The Wizards have just acquired another former Warrior landing Jamison today for multiple players. He now joins Arenas and Hughes ... could Dampier and/or Foyle be next to join the exodus from the Golden State?

You know, that was the first thing I thought of when I heard about that trade. Last year when Arenas signed with Washington, I felt really bad for Hughes because Arenas took his job in Golden State. Now Jamison gets traded to the Wizards and the most friction between players during the '02/'03 season was between Jamison and Arenas.

If nothing else, it should settle the issue of whether the Warriors could have made the playoffs in the east...

My sentiments exactly. There's a reasonable possibilty the Wizards will, (well barring injury), since the East lost 5th seed New Orleans, and Boston is in disarray.

Foyle wanted to start and he certainly could in the east, and he played at Colgate in NY, though that's not really that strong a link to over there. Barring the Jamison/Arenas factor, Washington made a pretty good deal by dumping Stack and Laettner. They also don't have to worry too hard about whether to draft the "best" player or by position.

It looks like the Warriors actually had a nice trio intact if they just had a little patience. I wouldn't be surprised if Arenas is the best PG in the league in 2 years....just goes to show how little patience teams have, and not just the Warriors. The Wizards should be able to make the playoffs next season and in two years they can contend for the East. It's all up to the big guys. I have faith in Kwame. I'm predicting 15-8 for Kwame this season, which should be enough since they have a solid lineup 1-3.

Yup Hoops, all of the best players on the Warriors leave some how or another; Tim Hardway, Chris Mullin, Mitch Richmond, Spree, Webber, Arenas, Jamison, Dampier possibly, and I think people wanted to trade JRich for draft picks, etc. It's actually pretty sad.

    Clif25,

I feel your pain. Just take a look at the Pistons. We let go of Rip, Ben Wallace, Rasheed Wallace, and Darvin Ham. Then, of course, there's letting Webber go.

Yeah lots of bad moves, i guess there are reasons to not make the playoffs for years...And for that duo of Arenas and Jamison. I don't think there will be that much friction. I think with the Warriors there could had been, even though I didn't hear much of this, I thought most of it was speculation. Anyhow the problem with Jamison and Arenas on the Warriors was probably that Jamison was the "franchise player" and that was what he was always told. Then the last year that Jamison was here the coach Eric Musselman wanted to milk everything he could get out of Arenas(he was a better playmaker). And I guess that started some confusion and I guess some friction. But now that Arenas has been with the Wizards and has been told that he is one of their main players, I don't think Jamison coming in will cause many problems at all. I think he will try to accept the situation there.

I feel bad for Jamison though. A new coach every year. Or at least as many coaches as years he's been in the league. PJ, Saint Jean, Winter, Cowens, Musselman, Don Nelson, and now the Wizards coach, who i can't seem to remember his name. The contract the Warriors gave him is going to hurt his career so much, it's too bad because he's a nice guy and a good player, but he isn't quite as good as the contract he has.

Maybe Musselman should go to Washington?

Speaking of Muss, whats the word on him? No one is offerring him a job? If anything, he'll end up in the broadcasting business for atleast a year.

Well it certainly won't be with any broadcasting of warriors games.
