Remember when the Sixers first traded for Chris Webber? Everyone was saying the Sixers would be contenders and would be one of the top teams in the east. People were saying that after multiple failed attempts, Allen Iverson will finally have a second option in Chris Webber. It's amazing how things and spirits have changed so quickly. A team that was once supposed to be on top is now having trouble even making the playoffs. With that being said, I thought it would be fun to look back at the reactions when the news of the Webber trade was first reported.

It was amazing how Billy King traded three high paid stiffs for Webber. The Sixers team at that time showed some promise. It went all down hill from there is all I have to say...

I don’t hold anything against Billy for pulling the trigger on the Webber deal at the time it was arguably the biggest steal in Philly sports history (or at least it appeared). We all thought all AI needed to help him get to the finals was a second option and Webber had been deep in the playoffs several times he might even have a ring at this point if not for Robert Horry. Trading for Webber was a good move at the time, but unfortunately it has not panned out. I still think it may though.
