Sorry for posting a new thread on this, but right now the Gators are the only undefeated team at least for 3 hours until they tip off against Tennessee. Should be a very fun game to watch tonight and if you guys get it, I would highly suggest watching it. I still think that we will lose, but it feels sweet to be the only undefeated!
Somehow I knew you were going to post something like this LOL Yeah but Florida is going to get challenged by Tennessee.
It just simply wouldn't look right if Florida wins and they are number one in the ESPN and AP polls, so I'll be pulling for them to lose tonight
Eh, no worries. Florida looks horrible when they are #1. We were basically #1 today and we have been 1-3 when we were #1. (1-4 if you count today)

Florida still has a chance to be #1 this year. Just because they lost today doesn't ruin their season. Because Duke lost too the teams will stay #1 and #2 most likely. You never what could happen to Duke and for all we know, Florida could go the rest of the year without losing. Don't assume after one loss that the Gators will have to wait another year to recieve the #1 ranking. It could very well happen this season.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting J_Ray:</div><div class="quote_post">Too bad we have to wait till next year to see a team run the table and see Florida have another chance @ being #1 </div> Well we'll likely be top 5-10 still and since the SEC "is so weak" the Gators should be able to get through with 1-2 more losses, while the other teams ahead of us play tougher competition in tougher conferences. We could still easily be #1 this year.

Gators had a very impressive and fine run you can't take that away from them. They still only have one loss and are going to make the NCAA tourny so no need to worry. I do believe that this team would have been better off in the long run if they would have played a schedule like Memphis and has 3-4 losses right about now.

We are a very young team and we want to instill confidence between our players. We lost our 3 best players from last year and our best returning scorer avg 7 ppg last year. When we made our schedule, we had a good balance of teams. We played then ranked Wake and Syracuse and a Texas Tech team that was supposed to be good(in the Coaches vs. Cancer tourney), who knew how bad they would actually be? Then Miami was supposed to be a legit team to make the tournament, we played them on the road. FSU and Providence were a good mixup, both are towards the bottom of their respective conferences, but they are both not that bad. We played Providence on the road. So before the season, the schedule was a good mixture to challenge our young guys and let them gain confidence, but with the way that they(the teams we have played) have played so far it doesn't look very good. Now after I say that, I would love to see us have a tough schedule next year for experience, since we will have a lot of confidence.
