Am i the only person who thinks that theo walcott is overrated

i mean sven took him to germany instead of darren bent/defoe and he didnt play one single game

hes good granted but 7M and no goals for a striker is terrible

he is a utility player and we have henry and van persie up front. so he plays on the wings and i think it is unfair to judge him just because sven took him instead of someone else

Unfair to judge Walcott at this age. He's only 17 and for a 17 year old he's a good player. Obviously he looks very average when playing in the premiership, that's simply because he's playing agaisnt people who are alot older than him and have learnt their trade.
Walcott for a 17 year old is good, however if you want to rate him on a full scale no matter what age he is, he's shit seems unfair to say that though.
I feel sorry for Walcott though, most people expect more from him than he can actually give. He was an alright goalscorer for Southampton, has done great for the England U21's, Arsenal paid 12 million for him, got picked for the world cup squad. Those are his main 4 'things'. Good for his age though.

yeah but i seriously think that sven took him to the world cup just as a shock factor to get people watching

if the squad was based on merit my strikers would have been rooney, crouch, bent and crouch

Crouch is probably one of my favorite players ^

But back on topic, Walcott is overated in my opinion as well. He's good for his age and has tons of potential but overall compared to some other big names, blah.

he isnt overated. You said it yourself he is good for his age. You cant expect him to be as good as the biggest players at only 17.

He's good for his age yes, but he is overhyped.
Going to Arsenal was the right choice in my opinion, despite the thoughts of those who believe he should have gone to Chelsea. I guess he learnt from Wright-Phillips' mistake.
I reckon he'll develop into a pretty good player under Wenger's guidance, but only time will tell.

I agree that he is good for his age but I think that if he got playing more he would gain more confidence and get better, he would be a much better player at a smaller club
