They drafted DeAngelo to be the primary backup & eventually succeed DeShaun. I've heard Shelton has been a bust. Goings IMO has been more of a sure thing.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (royalstarblue)</div><div class='quotemain'>Carolina needs to use Big Eric Shelton a lot more this year...that's my recommendation.</div> Finally someone agrees with me! I have been thinking this all season. Shelton is 245 pounds and has good speed for a big guy. He just needs to learn to pass protect ot get more playing time. He looked really good during the preseason and i was getting mad that we didnt put him in on short yardage during the preseason. Shelton was on the bubble to get cut, but Fox decided smartly to keep him.
I hope they use someone to take the load off Deshaun cause he won't last if he's got to be the short yardage guy. I think on third and 1 Shelton would be their best guy and help keep their other RB's healthy. I only care cause I got Foster on my ff team so they should still give it to him on the goal line
we should definitly give goings/shelton some carries this season. we need a power back if our coaches insist on playing "power football"
