They should blow this thing up for this year and do a one year rebuild.

    Keep

    Hank
    Nash
    Kreider
    Stepan
    Hagelin
    McDonagh
    J. Moore
    Miller

Everybody else, I would put out there and see what I could get back as far as close to ready prospects, players or picks. Something tells me if Kreider learns to fight a bit, he could be our next captain. I've noticed that he is starting to develop a real mean streak. He's basically close-lining players with his stick now which is not the best idea as he is in the box but I like it anyway. McIlrath is also a guy I see as a future captain. Miller also.

He's realized he's bigger and stronger than the players he's going against. He's starting to develop a bully mentality which is very good.

he is maturing both physically and mentally..hopefully he becomes the star we hope him to be.
we are going to need it as there simply is a lack of talent around him.

AV needs to start playing the horrible 3rd and 4th line a few less minutes and the nash line a few more and again get kreider out there on the pk with his reach and speed to create havoc and also increase his minutes.

Love the kids progress and he certainly is becoming a power forward... but lets get real dump after poking I forget who with his stick and Carlson trying to get after him he didn't look so tough. He also didn't look so tough after 19 year old Tom Wilson crushed him into the boards late in the third and he skated right off the ice. Speedy strong power moves to the net sure hes a beast. Fighting... no chance.

Pound for pound Kreider is very strong, he hits people and they move and he dosen't. Not sure if he'll ever be a decent fighter but that's ok.

But I agree a quick blowup rebuild would be nice for this team.

We have 37.5 mill in cap space this summer. Everyone needs to chill. No need to blow anything up. Just do a miny re-build this summer. With all the FA's we have, we can have a way dfifferent team next season. Use that huge amount of cap space to put the right players around the core. The issue I have is I have ZERO faith in Sather to make the right decisions. That's my issue. But overall we don't need to blow anything up. Just do it this summer when we only have a handful of guys under contract, and 37.5 mill in cap space.

It is dis. and there is no reason it can't be/shouldn't be. No one needs to overreact here. If we didn't have a solid core and great goalie, I could see overreacting. If we had long term contracts we were F'd by, I could see overreacting. If we didn't have 37.5 mill in cap space this summer, I could see overreacting. But that's not the case, so no need to overreact IMO. We can be right on top next season with the right moves this summer, no doubt about it. We are in a great spot IMO.

The question will be...can Sather do it? That's my concern. Not whether or not we are in a position to get it done.
