After listening to "Hooked on a Feeling", my 16-year-old son commented on how strange the "Oogachaka" intro is. I said, "It's even weirder when there's a dancing baby." He looked at me quizzically, and I then had to pull up the clip of Ally McBeal dancing with her hallucination. I'd say he was more confused than amused, and retreated off to his teen-cave, muttering something about the 90's being weird.

    He's not wrong.

There was a Pizza Hut in Lebanon that up until COVID was still doing the lunchtime pizza buffet. My son and I would stop there every time we went down that way. He's heartbroken that that's not a thing anymore.

God, I loved going to Izzys Pizza for their buffets. Either went way downhill or I didn't develop standards back then swore it was way better in the 90s though.

The Shakeys pizzas here do Pizza buffet lunches for under $15. Haven't been in a while so greasy. When I was doing no carbs I'd go and just eat salad, the fried chicken with skin peeled off, etc.

My son loves the Doobie Brothers. He heard enough of them in my household to indoctrinate him into The Good Music of the past.

For spirit week, my son's high school had a 90's day. When discussing possible outfit options, I suggested that he could just wear his pants backwards. A brief explanation of the "Kris Kross" fad followed.

    He was not impressed.

I had this Texas Instruments toy which was an audio cassette storyline with a microphone and a choose your own adventure type thing. That was early 90’s, before MP3 players existed. Which even then were vastly lacking compared to audio options today.

LOL!! Fortunately for me, the only blue dress my kids know about is that black/blue-white/gold internet picture. I'm glad the subject of Monica's dress has yet to come up in my house.

Explaining to the kids why Mom's closest childhood friend never got married.....and why he was always hanging with the same guy whenever we'd see him......a thing that is relatively wide open and self explanatory these days.......

Why back in the day you would spend 5K on a synthesizer keyboard that could make the sound of a 5 dollar harmonica and why my old computer was the size of a suitcase and had a state of the art 1 gig hard drive

Grandpa....it was called blockbusters and you could rent movies that a thousand people have used before and that might glitch but you needed to see Forest Gump again damnit!

You mean you actually had to leave the house to watch a movie?!?!

Remember when DVD’s dropped. Blockbuster and Hollywood video used to have VHS and then just a small section.

Man I freaking remember Hollywood video, they had one in downtown Lake Oswego and it was a pretty big store. At least to a young child. Always enjoyed going to see what movies and games were in. Used to walk up there with my dad all the time.

Shit, just about 10 years ago on the team plane we had individual DVD players in the arm rests. They would come around with these albums full of DVDs everybody would fight over.
