Even with losing three the Yankees are still very much in the hunt for a wild card. Some of the competition is hitting skids as well. Going to be a very interesting month, hope Kuroda pitches well today. Even Big Bad Archer and Ace Verlander lost yesterday.

What is amazing is that we are still 2 1/2 GB after 3 of the ugliest loses of the year. But this is all hiding the real elephant in the room. We have to many issues and not enough resources to change it for a while. Like Davy Crockett said in the Alamo, "We're going to need more men"

Here you've got a guy like Jeter, comes back to help his team, wants to win, impaired but tries like hell. Mo and Pettitte are "old goats" with the desire and ability to win. Soriano gone for years. comes back and contributes, where in the hell are the rest of the stones on this team? Its a wonder Girardi still has hair after seeing people even failing to despite some questionable moves.

Tampa has collapsed and the Yankees picked a good time to do the same. One win out of the last three disasters would've been good.

And even if Jeter is okay I'm still hoping he shuts it down for the year. He just looks helpless at the plate.

I feel the same way, As you have seen me use the word gutless, but so many of these guys are just not tough. I ask you all, who is the emotional leader of this team?

jeter tried yea but he sucked when he was in. lets face it. you dont think gardner and cano have contributed? this team would be in shambles without those two. also kuroda has faltered lately but he carried this team every time he started for a lot of the year

Jeter in the lineup hurt more than it helped.

I said it after his last rehab stint. He should have just sat out & rested & came back stronger next season.

…and it is not a coincidence that this offense also started performing when Arod came back. Let's not be blinded by the hate.
