Nolan Ryan resigned as CEO of the Rangers effective at the end of the month... he said he wouldn't be CEO of another team... didn't say he was done with baseball though.... http://espn.go.com/dallas/mlb/story/_/id/9839958/texas-rangers-ceo-nolan-ryan-steps-down
...lol...I was going to post the same thing but instead just said that I think Texas made a huge mistake...they say he "resigned", but you know that's BS.
yeah... beat ya to it... lol... but yeah, he says he wants to spend more time with his grandkids and at his ranch... so that right there probably answers my question, but I can dream...
...the ironic thing is that Ryan was hired to also observe the young GM who grew more powerful and eventually pushed Ryan out of the organization. If I were Ryan, I'd never set foot in that ballpark again. You can tell by the press conference that he was not happy at all.
Daniels may have won the battles but he'll probably lose the war for messing with Ryan. Saw an article on Yardbarkers rumors that Ryan & Daniels nearly came to blows over policy. Ask Robin Ventura about that. I remember that Ryan as a player had a contract dispute that caused him to leave the Stros. Alvin Texas is just a jump from Houton, wonder if he'll get involved over there. Along with that story it was mentioned on MLB the Texas will probably go after Mc Cann and make a run on Price.
...yeah, Houston would be a likely landing spot for Ryan...but I think most Rangers fans will see through the ruse that the team's front office perpetrated, and in the long run I think it will cost them. ...and I can't believe Daniels is still high on Ron Washington.
He doesnt strike me as somone ready to take on NYC. Hes a country boy. Saying that i will take anyone over Cashman at this point. Omar Minaya would be an upgrade at this point.
If we're replacing clueless man I want them to go get the card gm and farm boss and pay them double what their being paid now. The cardinal system is just unbelievable producing one good young player after the other.
The Cardinals shake pitchers out of trees, then we see other teams with outstanding prospects like Harper, Trout, Machado, Iglesias and the like. The Yankees were so well organized back in the Nineties, what the hell happened.
