We have seen some very great highs with Paul, and some absolute lows with him, but I feel like we will continue to see the same treadmill issues as long as Paul is the owner of this team.

I see a lot of people calling for Neil's head, and I'm sure Neil has some blame in this, but Paul is much too involved in this organization to lay it all on the GM.

Gone is the golden age with Drexler/Porter/Kersey when Paul bought the team in 88. Gone is the spend fest of the Trader Bob teams that stole the headlines with their winning... and their problems with the law.

There was the Patternash era. That was a fun one. Martell Webster over Chris Paul! Woohoo!

There was KP with the Tom Penn debacle. Firing KP on the day of the draft.

There was the nasty email we sent Memphis about Darius Miles.

Rich Cho lasted 10 months as the GM.

There have been all the rumors for quite some time about the Vulcans and "Hat guy" and all of the interference. So at what point is the blame on Paul?

I look at Golden State, and as soon as their ownership changed, the team started to climb. In 2010 Joe Lacob and a group of buyers purchased the Warriors for $450 million. Check the records.

    In 2009-2010 they were 26-56.

    Lacob bought the team.

    2010-2011 36-46
    2011-2012 23-43 (Curry injured - drafted Klay)
    2012-2013 47-35 (drafted Draymond)
    2013-2014 51-31
    2014-2015 67-15 (hired Kerr)
    2015-2016 73-9
    2016-2017 67-15

Outside of a few years, this team has been the definition of a treadmill team under Paul. After all the bullshit with Patterson, Nash, Kevin Pritchard, Cho, and now Neil... at what point do we point the finger at the guy calling the shots at the top?

Spot on. Completely agree. This is one of the better posts I've read.

Back in December, when I went with my father down to the Bay Area for a 9er game, he talked to me the day we got there about how the Warriors rebuilt their franchise into what it is today (he's a life-long GS fan). He laid it all out piece by piece, and what they did with whom, and how they approached the issue. It was far more than I can type here; as conversations of this magnitude usually go. But I really have to say......the way that GS's ownership came together as a team and built that franchise is a thing of beauty.

When your owner sits on the sidelines for most of the home games, and he still has to launch an investigation into why his basketball team isn't winning enough games.......

I mean, really? Really Paul? Are you THAT out of touch with this shit?

This guy has no idea what he's doing. He hires guys to run this franchise who are just concerned with cashing in on his dime. Maybe they figure that because we're a small market team, that the best thing they can do is just work, instead of build. And that's part of the problem.

We can fire Olshey, and in fact I expect and welcome it. But these problems are going to continue until Paul opens his eyes and looks in a mirror. I find it baffling that he built such a dominate football team that took the NFL by storm, yet he can barely manage to get his basketball team above 40 wins.

    That's pathetic.

Keep an eye on the Seahawks. They're going through some rough times, and if last season was any indication, then what happens going forward with that franchise will tell you all you need to know about what's going to happen with this one. It will be very telling of what the ownership is like. If the Seahawks win 9 games next season, I'll be surprised. San Fran is a favorite to sweep them next season. And just 2 years ago, that was unthinkable (not that I'm complaining).

If you look at Paul's time as owner, the two most stable periods that we have had were Bob and now Neil. Other than that, the team has been in a pretty constant state of chaos.
