http://nypost.com/2015/08/09/you-cant-assault-teixeira-blasts-fan-in-incident-filled-game/ Fine these things shouldn't happen but it's only this stuff that causes this team to show any fire. That and Tex throwing a fit over a mistake by the third base coach a couple of weeks ago.
River Avenue Blues post game video showed Tex stating that the sweep was just a "bump in the road" this is one of the high dollar primos talking. Guess what Tex, those 120K + fans didn't come to the stadium to hear excuses like that.
I like Tex and he's certainly having a nice season. That being said his comments just continue to be ridiculous. Is it that hard to say everyone is pissed and unhappy with what happened? I'm tired of the cliches of it's a long season, bump in the road and nonsense like that.
...this weekend's series results as well as Gardner getting plunked by a fan and Tex whining about a fan going after a souvenir are the kind of events that sometimes seem to turn good karma into bad. ...this team really needs to turn things around in Cleveland before heading to Toronto.
Tex' sissy fits are wearing thin. "Bump in the road" is not the same as being humiliated in front of your home fans. It is conceivable if their lackluster hitting continues they may be in 2nd place going into Toronto.......if so, "bump in the road" will go down as this season's defining moment. One thing for sure, it makes for good sports' theater.
Lets not go crazy yet. Lets see if they turn the tables next weekend in toronto. If they get swept again there which I don't see happening then will be time to get a little nervous
Yeah for now lets just hope they find there bats in Cleveland & that the A's can help us out a little with the Blue Jays.
It's a generic post Rick....consensus seems to be saying lets have an alpha male will some balls LEAD this team.
