I totally hope this is not true. It just sounds like BS. What do you think? Nets Daily, you haven't seen this? http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/7628944 Straight Shooting Remember when Jason Kidd missed a Knicks-Nets game on Dec. 5? And remember how the "official" word was that J-Kidd had a migraine? And who could forget the widespread rumors that Kidd was trying to force the Nets to re-do his contract? Well, here's the definitive word from an unimpeachable source as to what really went down. Kidd showed up at Rod Thorn's office that same morning and he did indeed demand that his contract be renegotiated and expanded. When Thorn categorically refused, this was Kidd's response: "(Bleep) you! I'm not playing tonight!" The biggest mystery, however, is why the media has always given Kidd a free pass — even after he proved to be totally uncoachable in Dallas, only slightly less so in Phoenix, and after he succeeded in Bogarting the Nets into canning Byron Scott and signing Alonzo Mourning. Kidd's bossy attitude goes back to the fact that he was such an overwhelming talent in high school (St. Joseph of Notre Dame in Alameda, Calif.) and in college (California) that his respective coaches let him did as he pleased. Naturally, Kidd figured that his NBA coaches should also defer to him. For sure, J-Kidd is one of the all-time great point guards. But isn't it interesting that such a super-duper star has been traded twice (and seems to be on the verge of being traded again)? And that three coaches have been fired on his watch? Even if we forget about Kidd's public marital battles, it's clear that once the final buzzer sounds, this seven-time All-Star is a no-star individual.
Who in the Nets FO would actually tell Phil Jackson (oops, Charlie Rosen) such a detail? Somebody check the phone records of the bald man in Philly
I think there's probably some truth to that, but I don't think it's as brutal as rosen is making it out to seem....
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"(Bleep) you! I'm not playing tonight!"</div> WTF? hahaha. That's pretty crrrrazy
Kidd is one of my favorite point guards of all-time... on the court. Off the court, there always seems to be something negative going on - whether it be domestic violence, cheating, sexual harassment, now this. He sounds like a sex-craved asshole from all the reports about him.
I can't see Kidd saying "Fuck you! I'm not playing tonight!" I can see him saying the former, but definitely not the latter. And definitely not both used sequentially.
Kidd's not exactly a saint, but that sounds like something out of "Any Given Sunday," and not real life.
**** charlie rosen, god i hate that old motherfucker. he's the same retard who said LeBron would fail miserably in the league and wouldn t be able to "hang with the big boys", how the **** does this old motherfucker still write? Fox should have fired his ass as soon as LBJ hit

My Dad and I have a running joke that Kidd is a basketball idiot-savant. It makes watching him much more entertaining.

First off, it's St. Joseph Notre Dame. Get rid of the word "of", some idiot from the Mavericks put it there and somehow it's stuck. Kidd went to St. Joe's because of a his basketball relationshp with a player 3 years older than him. Calvin Byrd, who at the time was going to be a senior. He had earned CA freshman, sophomore and State player of the year up to that point. As a 6-6 high flying small forward, everyone knew him, he signed with Villanova. Kidd decided to go to St. Joe's and team up with him. YOu know the rest, alley oops, wrap around passes, why didn't win a State Title that, still can't figure it out. Kidd was a freshman that year, boy actually on a trip to UNC for HS tourney Kidd did break team rules while on that trip and was suspended for the first 2 league games. He came back and earned frosh of the year honors. If Kidd wanted his way 24-7, why does he attend St. Joe's. He could have gone to rival Bishop O'Dowd, another private school a few blocks from his Oakland home. Sure Coach Mike Phelps had a rule against playing frosh on the varsity....but for Kidd, the guy that always had it his way could surely of convinced Coach Phelps of this nicknack rule, watch me play coach, I can help you win a state title this year and the next 4 years. Plus O'Dowd had just graduated about 9 seniors from the previous season's state finals team, and none of the 3-4 returnees played any significant time. Kidd can be the man and put Bishop O'Dowd(Brian Shaw's alma mater)on the map......you know Rosen, get your facts straight, before acting like a blowheart and criticizing your fellow media mates....media love him because in HS, he was trained to be front of the media by St.Joe's late coach Frank LaPorte. After having to deal with Calvin Byrd's media following, he knew what the media wanted and coached Kidd not only on the court but with the media. Kidd took this training with him until he met Joumana. Joumana has a degree in communications. So disliked players for being fake, using cliches, so she recoached Kidd on dealing with the media, be a little more human....so through the years, Kidd has been media saavy in terms of dealing with the media, that's why the media loves him so much and won't knock him, plus he does let his play do the talking, once he gets between those lines, he's the most competitive player out there....bar none.
Sounds like he's trying to start something. We're playing pretty well right now; there's no point in looking at the past. Just focus on the present and continue to do what you do. Kidd seems happy, so what's the problem?

If Rosen (Phil Jackson) is bringing this up, it is only to drive his trade value down and try to get him to the Lakers
