    What's the deal with this new board? When I try to post something there are no formatting options of any kind visible, and standard web board bracketed tags don't seem to work (like what I tried to do back there). Worst of all, I can't find a way to preformat text or use a monospaced font. This is particularly terrible here, where you would want to post statistics in table form. When I post, I can't even insert carriage returns!! It filters them out and makes spaces instead. Plus, it gives you a view of your posting area (the textbox) that is only a few lines high. Please tell me there is some kind of formatting option palette that I'm missing. I really can't believe it would be like this. I'm on a Mac but I've never had any problems before with standard web forum tools. I know I'll sound whiney, but I'm really hating this board with a passion compared to the old one; it was technically far superior and a much more pleasant experience. This thing is awful from a usability standpoint.

    You do know you can just press control I, right?</p>

    Primative? What? Wasn't JBB a bulletin board system?</p>

    Yes, traditional bbcode things and don't work, but this is full WYSIWYG editor with those options. Highlight the text and click the corresponding button just like a word processor.</p>

    For stats, if you are cutting and pasting them from somewhere else, they will show up with all of that formatting. Additionally, you can make tables very easily by using the table button on the editor. It is the 4th button from the right on the second row.</p>

    If you need a larger view of your posting area, the 2nd button from the right on the bottom row will maximize the editor's size in your window. Just click it again to go shrink back down to submit your post.</p>

    Thanks for the responses, after some more research I found the problem appears to be a Safari incompatibility. That whole formatting palette just doesn't show up on the page at all. It looks like it works fine in Firefox though. Kind of a bummer since I've been using Safari recently, and I can't post from my iPhone using Firefox either . It also seems to require you disable popup blocking for certain things (like editing table properties), I'm not a big fan of that. Well anyway, it's better than nothing, thanks for the help.</p>

    Glad I could help. Would you do me a favor and check if the editor display's properly on Safari on the following link http://www.fckeditor.net/demo</p>

    </p>

    I noticed that too about the popups when I first tested the editor. Table properties is really the only one I use it for, however, if it is something easy that I want to fix on a table, I'll hit the source button (1st row, 1st button) to go into the raw html mode and make the fix that way.</p>

Same deal on that link: works in Firefox Mac, not in Safari Mac (no formatting palette visible). I sent a bug report to Apple. Thanks again.</p>
