I don't know how long it will take me to recover from the Ducks loss to Auburn, but the Blazers could have made me feel a lot better had they not lost 3 straight. Oh, and then Brandon is having arthroscopic surgeries on both knees with no realistic hope that this will do anything to help him long term.

This is one depressing week for Oregon/Blazer Fans.

A completely deflating week all around - especially from the Blazers. Had they not blown the late lead to Miami, I am confident we'd have gone 3-0.

It's been a rather depressing decade+ for Blazer fans. Seriously outside of the team winning the lotto, Roy being ROY and an All Star thrice, what hasn't been generally depressing about the decade?

The "hangover effect" of the Miami loss is a total cop out. This team doesn't have enough offense right now to be more than a .500 team.

    well, *at the time*...

Zach Randolph starting in the playoffs against Dallas and pwning those noobs at the end of the 2002-03 season.

The Ha/Telfair Blazers beating the Lakers near the end of the 2004-05 season (http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/200504200POR.html).

Travis Outlaw scoring 36 points against Golden State the last game of the 2005-06 season.

Yes, there have been plenty of disappointing times, but in the darkness, small points of light shine more brightly. Like that team we had in 04-05... look at that 9-man rotation. We're in a tough spot now, but we're still better than we used to be.

I hate to say it, but I'm used to it. I feel like I've been desensitized to disappointment after all the losses we've suffered with the Blazers. For me it was the WCFs in 1998-1999 and 1999-2000, the loss of Greg Oden in 2007 and then again in 2009 and then again in 2010, and now the Ducks in the BCS. I'm just not about to get all down in the dumps anymore. It is what it is. I'm hoping the team makes a trade, fires the coach and tries to reshape its future because right now things don't look so great. But hey, if they don't, seats will be cheaper and there will be less band wagoneers.

I thought everyone would be used to it by now, pretty much another week of being an Oregon sports fan.

I am used to it with the Blazers. They really do seem snake bit. But it really seemed like the Ducks year. They did everything right. They had good chemistry. They put the time in, and it just felt like that group of guys weren't going to lose. The hype going into the game, the curfew, the focus they had, the poise they showed . . . just a tough, tough loss to a really good Auburn team. But the Blazers could have done more to pick up our spirits. 0-3, and another game last night with a lead going into the 4th . . . only to lose. I read somewhere that it's the 9th time that's happened (leads the NBA). At least the Ducks didn't choke. I guess w/o All Star version of Brandon Roy we are a .500 team. They are just good enough to have a chance to win w/o him, but not enough horse-power to close games out.
