Two years ago you had everyone bashing Josh Smith calling him a big bust. He's turned around and proved everyone wrong. Last year you had Charlie Villanueva who everyone said was going to be a bust. This year you have nobody that really fits that but everyone bashes Rudy Gay because he has not dominated like everyone thought even though he averaged around the same stats as LaMarcus Aldridge did on offense.

Well he ended up barely playing better than last season, let his team down in the tourny, and he didnt even maje the first team all americans like expected. Thats why people are bashing him. As for a player like that, you cant really decide. The reason people were bashing charlie v was because they thought he was takin to high. Thats who the player will be. The one who gets taken a lot higher than expeced and ends up being worth it. Obviously its impssible to guess that so im not even gonna bother for this one.

Rudy Gay is going to be amazing. He game is perfect for the NBA, he won't have the pressure, he can shoot, he's an amazing athlete. He's a better prospect than Marvin Williams. People forget that Rudy was only in his 2nd NCAA season and put up numbers Grant Hill put up his sophomore season.

I was also a Charlie V. basher. I had a reason to bash him though. He showed no effort at UCONN. Then he skyrocketed in Toronto. BCB you want to bet he doesnt make the rookie 1st team??

Yeah I agree with iversonfan. Nobody has ever bashed him that I know of. When I first heard of him in the Mickie D's HS All-America game I didn't even think of his last name. Plus, it just means he is happy.

kingjamez, how can you say Gay's game isn't refined for the pro's? his game is perfect for the pro's. He has size, athleticism, midrange game, range on his shot, and he's a good defender. Yeah I think Gay will be a great player in the league. His athleticism and wingspan are great. hes a greta all around player. Im just not sure how hell do in his first season. He wasn't able to prove himself last season like expected, so how do we know if he will this season. I definetly think he will be a star in the L though

Gay cannot shoot the ball from 20+ feet out. He's going to have to create for himself if he wants to score. He doesn't really have good handles at all, so creating for himself might be an issue. He's a slasher, so once he gets by his defender he will be able to dunk the ball, but his problem is, I dont think he will get past his defender. He'll be playing against people just as athletic, and bigger, and stronger than he is. I just dont see him scoring much his first couple years, until he bulks up, and develops a long rang shot. But I do love his potential, he has the potential to be an all-star for many years to come.

Only problem i have with Gay is that sometimes he looks likes he's not even trying to play on the court or he looks like something else is on his mind and he isnt consentrating on the game. I think he's an ok shooter and a great slasher that will do pretty good his rookie season and be good through out his career. If he works on his range (which i think he will) he'll be a great player. Maybe a poor man's verson of Scottie Pippen.

He also disappears in big games, like in the NCAA tournament, I never saw any highlights of him. Its like he didnt even want to be there.
