<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Suns are finding it every bit as difficult to ignore Thomas, who will make more than $14 million in this, his final contract year. ?He's making it very tough," Suns coach and general manager Mike D'Antoni said. ?You're talking about a 15 million (dollar) guy that sometimes plays like it. He can go up to another level that most guys in the league can't do."</div> <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">?I have no idea what he's looking for but we can't commit financial suicide and we're not going to do that," D'Antoni said. ?We have a nice nucleus." When the season began, that nucleus included Kurt Thomas, who the Suns still may want to evaluate alongside Stoudemire for a full season. But Tim Thomas sure is a nice fit with the current Suns, mainly because he spaces the floor with his shooting, opening things up for the other players. Thomas said Friday that he's never been in a situation as tailor-made to his skills as the Suns' wide open offense. He's also never been in a locker room where there was harmony from guy 1-14. ?That's the most important thing for a team," he said. Which is why Thomas will return if the offer is ?fair." ?I've made my money and I'm going to make more in the NBA," he said. ?I've thought about this plenty." And the Suns will think long and hard about Thomas because ?we'd love to have him," D'Antoni said. ?When it's the right opportunity, we'll sit down and try to work it out. ?We'll have to see where this team goes first and then make a decision. It's not going to be an easy decision but I'll tell you what, it's a great problem to have."</div> Source
i hope he does re-sign, just so we can see how well the suns can do. most teams have a big 2 or a big three like the heat and the nets, but if the suns can re-sign thomas they will have a big 8, they will be huge.
Tim Thomas probably will stay in Phoenix regardless of money. He would disappear on many other teams, and I am sure he's had enough of that over the past few years. When TT is rolling and hitting jumpers, he is darn near unstoppable. I remeber a few years ago he literally carried the Bucks through some playoff games with his shooting. He is destined to play and excel in Phoenix. Having him on the floor with Amare would be scary, as they would have two tall guys inside and outside.
I don't think there is much chance of Phoenix taking Redick, for two reasons. One, he will go in the 12-15 range, and the Suns don't pick that high. Two, if for some reason he fell, he doesn't have the ability to create his own shot or play any defense, and those are things the Suns are really looking for in this draft.
