Thorn: Frank’s the Coach Next Year, Playoffs or Not
March 27, 2008, 1:48 am In a straight denial of a report that Lawrence Frank may be fired if the Nets don’t make the playoffs, Rod Thorn said that Frank will definitely be his coach come October. Thorn hears the calls for Frank’s head, but he knows more about what the coach does than the media and fans, and “I don’t see anything that can transpire that would change my mind.”

Well with Thorn issuing this statment clearly his not seeing what we are seeing. Lets see, 5 years as the coach, about 8 guys we have drafted since then and only 2 have developed into solid role players. ( I don't give frank credit yet on area 51)

Solid role players: Nenad & Boone

Potential players that are taking awhile to develop: Marcus & Sean

Failed players: Wright, Adams, Mile & Zoran

Not all players drafted are gems just waiting to be polished. Some just suck others develop at their own pace. It's not like any of these players have gone on to successful careers on other teams. The only one still in the league and not on the Nets is Antoine.

Frank gave Wright tons of chances to prove himself, but he couldn't do it. Hard to blame Frank for that one. That's more a Thornski mistake.

Blame the people doing the drafting, not the coach.

Adams was a 2nd round pick who was cut after his first year in the league because of the luxury tax; you can't call that a failure.

Didn't stick with Cleveland either. If he develops his shot overseas, he'll be back, but he does need to work.
