We shouldn't blow the team away so quickly. We are still in playoff position and still have chances of winning the Atlantic division. It would be a bad decision to trade Kidd or Carter now. Even if it is before the trade deadline.
As much as I want to see the Nets win it all. Im really tired of seeing them make a late run for the playoffs and get swept in the first round. Thorn is not looking for the Nets to win. It's all about positioning and preparation for the move to Brooklyn. He won't trade Kidd. Not because he wants to win with Kidd but I think he needs Kidd to guide Williams for a smooth transition. And that's unfair on the part of Kidd. At this point, I would rather see Kidd traded than using him for Williams' sake. Kidd had done everything and more for the Nets organization. From a GM's standpoint, if this is what he is planning, he really is brilliant. But I have to say that he's brilliance is separated only by a thin line from being evil. I'm sure there are people who will pat him on the back for a great job. But those people won't be the fans and it certainly won't be Jason Kidd. Jason Kidd deserves to win. But if Thorn doesn't plan on winning with him, then he should do the right thing and trade him.
