Lately, though, the man who drafted Michael Jordan might feel like the unluckiest man in the NBA.

After hitting it big by drafting Kenyon Martin, trading Stephon Marbury for Jason Kidd and pulling off a draft-day deal that sent Eddie Griffin to Houston for Richard Jefferson and Jason Collins, the 2001-2002 executive of the year has struck out on Chris Childs, Dikembe Mutombo and now, Alonzo Mourning.</div>

A strikeout for the NBA best executive. First with Childs, then Mutombo and now Mourning. Is he really losing his touch? As a Nets fan, I personally forgive him. After all, he's the man who cooked up the Kidd trade. He got Jefferson and Collins for a nowhere-to-be-found Eddie Griffin. Plus he still has an improving first pick in K-Mart. Besides, Mutombo gave them some solid minutes during the post-season and we all know that Zo played a great role in bringing back Kidd. What's on Rod's mind? I'm sure he's not about to allow another Childs/Deke/Zo to happen.
