As you all should know, we drafted Blake Stepp this year in the draft. Any thoughts on him?

I'm not sure how he's done in summer league play. I've heard that he missed some of the first games with an ankle injury if I'm not mistaken. I think, though, that he would be a solid 3rd pointguard behind Cassell and Hudson. He had a very nice Gonazaga career. Although he's not promised a contract since he was drafted outside of the first round, we could bring him to the roster next season. Should we? I think he would be a very good player for our team, mainly on the offensive end because I feel that he could be dishing out some very nice assists to the big 3.

I dont think he will make the team from the position he was drafted with an ankle injury it will make him a long shot to even get a 1 year deal with the team. If any thing I think we will send him over seas for a couple years like the spurs did with ginobli for 1 year and see how it works out.

Depending on our point guard situation come october his chances may improve. With cassels court case and hudsons history with injuries. Though I think cassel's court case isnt that big a deal any more. If martin doesnt come back or one of our other guards then he may be signed but get very little minutes.

Well IF Martin comes back, I don't see us getting Step. But if Martin doesn't come back, I think we sign Stepp. The reason being, Cassell is ageing, has a court case as you mentioned, and is recovering from that hip injruy. And Hudson, as you mentioned, has a history with injuries. With those 2 cases, wouldn't hurt to have a 3rd pointguard, correct? If we are looking for a pointguard to dish a lot of assists and occasionally hit the long ball, I feel Stepp might be our awnser.

Stepp is a very under-rated player. If he gets enough minutes he can really put up some numbers. He is a great passer and with great scorers around him his assists could be pretty solid if not better. I'm not in his rookie, but maybe next year if the T'Wolves sign him could do some real damage.

Now that I am thinking it offer most likely he will be signed by the team. Since they dont want to have no point guard do to injury or off the court troubles. Then also if they let him walk. Houston would be diying to get him since they need a point bad. The twolves dont want to help out a western division team.

See, in my opinion, it would only make sense to keep Stepp. With injury problems and off the court troubles with Hudson and Cassell, a 3rd pointguard would be needed in any case that either Cassell or Hudson might not be able to perform. Stepp would be there to back the 2 of them up.

I like stepp and i think he will be a great steal for us. I think you give him a 2-YEAR DEAL!! I think that is the right way to go with him. look at luke walton, if the lakers signed him to a 1 year deal he would be a hot free agent at this point. This guy has been consistent even with an ankle injury. He is a very smart player and would learn a lot from flip.now that hudson and cassell should be healthy, i think you have to sign him this year to a 2 year deal. he will also learn from cassell. Stepp would probably be the best passer on our team too. well 2nd. He is also an unbelievable 3 point shooter. He hit like 4 on that last friday of the summer league. he also had like 6 assists. I had a conversation with him after the game. He was reliefed that he actually started draining shots. He was pretty upset about that. He thinks he can prove himself at the veterans camp.so we will see.
