I think KMart could be a good option for the Blazers if they choose to jump on this and I doubt he's going to get a 10-12 million dollar contract from any team again. I also doubt the Thunder will resign him when they have Lamb just waiting to get some action. Especially when Lamb is cheaper and will probably be better overall than Martin anyways.

Hurt OKC's depth while improving ours? Hmm, maybe we need to give this some thought before discarding the idea?

I just am not sure we have the $$$$. Say we resign maynor at 3 a year, and we grab dalembert at 5 a year, we keep the pick too.... we just dont have the money to grab him. Id expect kmart to grab 7 million a year.

Drop Nolan and Babbitt and say we don't land the picks?

Without the pick we will have like 5 left if we spent 3 on maynor and 5 on dalembert. Not enough for martin.

Id rather use the leftover 5 on taking a contract a team is looking to dump along with assets than go after someone. If we couldnt do that, guys like martell webster, dorell wright, or gerald henderson are guys that will probably get 4-5 a year.

Doubt this is our path. Olshey is all in on a center.

I like Pek...... but I can't believe we are going to give a player Max/near Max money and he won't even average better numbers than what we are getting from JJ!

I like the fit, but injuries are a concern.

I don't like him. Great standstill out side shooter. Has had games where is was unconscious. But i still don't like him as a starter. If he looks good in the playoffs then sure go after him. But then again if he looks good in the playoffs, then OKC will want to keep him.

Personally I think Wes is just as good. I mean all Kevin Martin does is spread the floor for Westbrook and Durant. If we go after a guard he needs to be able to create his own shot and attack the basket. (as well shoot from distance)

When you take into account overall game, sure. But, I think we tend to focus too much on percentages when comparing players. Wes is an unsung hero type, whereas Kevin Martin is an established star who demands attention. Even if Wes is as good of a shooter, Martin is going to get more respect from the defense and spread the floor better.

No thanks. Hate Martin. Nothing but a chucker. And he's got one of the ugliest chucks in the league.

In no way is Martin an "established star." The rationale behind getting him would be to improve our depth, not to supplant Wessy, who is the better overall player.

Agreed. And I'd still rather get pretty much anyone else as our 6th man before resorting to Martin.

Kevin Martin is one of those guards that can get to the line at will. We desperately need someone like that; but I think Lillard will develop into a player like that. Martin seems to have a history of being injured, although he's been okay this season. It could be that as long as he isn't counted on as some major minute producer; he could be injury free.

In the end, I think it's a bad idea. He's just not as great on the defensive end as I would like. I think the moment we can fix this defensive problem is when we are actually contending.

I know it's been discussed before, and is something we actually agree on, but defense isn't going to dramatically improve until we get a coach who knows how to orchestrate a defense. Yes, a C will help quite a bit - but it won't vault us to championship-level defense...that HAS to come from coaching.
