The offensive tackles still need alot of work. The interior was okay. Satele @ Center is the real deal. The unit IMO is ahead of where they were against the Steelers in the opener last season IMO. However, there is still plenty of room to improve, gel, get better, etc...

The D was great &will be crazy fierce once Zack, Jason, & Joey suit up. Some phins fans have proclaimed Jason Allen (1st rounder in 06) a bust. I though J. Allen looked decent against the Chiefs. Lets face it; Capers' scheme is complex and I'd be willing to theorize that even Zack, Jason, & Joey still have things to learn.

As for Ginn, I am still not sold. I am not as critical as I was 3 and a half months ago. It appears he has yet to adapt to the spped of the pro game and is even struggling in the return game.

I got home right after Croyle led the Chiefs foir a TD. Dale was kind enough to let me know that Green & Ronnie looked good. I am glad they passed on Quinn as Beck looks like the post Marino is over. I'd bet He takes over full time in 08. Trent will be an upgrade at the position and a great mentor for JB. Cleo Lemon is a solid backup w/ grasp of Cam's scheme.

Cobbs really impressed me. Chatman did real well vs. J'ville. Ronnie should have a breakout yr and could really excel if the OL ever gets it together. Mauia (07 4th rounder) as a hammer in goal line & short yardage situations behind Schlesinger is great.

The backups @ RB left me w/ one question; Ricky who? Seriously, the Chargers will lose Turner after the season. With RW being from San Diego, I wonder if AJ Smith would be willing to acquire Ricky for a conditional 5th/6th to backup LT?

Bottom line; Both teams should win 7 to 8 and finish third in their division. Though, I am even more hopeful than I was at this point 2 years ago.

I thought Green looked a little better and Beck continues to look good. I saw some second effort running out of Ronnie Brown that I had never seen before. The OL is a work in progress, but I think they will improve as the year goes on. I wasn't very happy with the Dolphins special teams, especially the punting unit. I would like to see more production from the WRs. I feel good about the direction that the Dolphins are headed. I hope the team can be competitive and I think the Dolphins defense will keep this team in some games even when the offense struggles.
