    My two posts are related.

    You see, I do watch a lot of MSNBC. I would say it's a 24/7 Obama commercial (mostly attack "ads" on republicans, though), but they're a documentary channel during the weekends.

    During the times I am able to watch, they're constantly bashing the republican field, except for Romney.

    They say things like, "Romney is going to get the nomination" or "Romney's got that steady support..."

    Now why do they want Romney to get the nomination?

    Do they think he's easier to beat for Obama? Perhaps they think it'll keep a lot of republicans from turning out. If so, isn't the spending of nearly MSNBC's entire budget (perhaps $1B or more) to effect an outcome they desire in the primaries could be seen as voter suppression.

    OR

    Do they want Obama to lose? Matthews seems to have turned against him all of a sudden, per the 1st post. If so, they'd want a liberal republican to win. One who would rebrand ObamaCare as RomneyCare pt. deux.

    OR

    Do they want Obama to lose? Obama's not left-wing enough. His policies disappoint the left. The economy sucks, we need change. Washington is disfunctional under his leadership (and lefties love government in action).

    OR

    Somehow they think they're doing some sort of unbiased telling of the truth. I don't think so, because MSNBC telling republicans who to vote for is like Rush Limbaugh telling democrats who to vote for. And the rest of their coverage isn't unbiased telling of the truth.

    I guess they'd rather see an impotent do-nothing have a miniscule chance of becoming POTUS rather than a retard, a liar or a loon.

    Explosive? LOL.

    Chris Matthews having a mid-life crisis because Obama doesn't conduct "business as usual" in the WH reflects poorly on Chris Matthews for not remembering that was a promise he made and a big reason why he got elected. Since our representatives and senators are deliberately refusing to work together in our best interests I'm all for him ignoring them as much as possible. They no longer represent the people who elected them and who pay their salaries. They represent the corporations who have overthrown America and I'd like to see them taken completely out of the loop and rendered powerless.

    As for not telling us what he'll do next term (over a year from now) it has no relevance at this early date. I'd rather the President be busy fixing the country (which he's drawing a salary to do) instead of campaigning on the taxpayer's dime like Romney, Bachman, Perry and Paul are doing.

    It's not like anyone is running against him in the primary.

    Obama isn't even in the united states right now, is he? I don't remember how long it's been since he was here.

    I'll give you another "OR"...

    Obama is a mix of LBJ, Carter, and GHW Bush.

    Like LBJ in that he's presiding over an unpopular war (Afghanistan) that he escalated. Like LBJ in that people are rioting in the streets - social unrest abnormally high.

    Like Carter in that he's out of touch, preachy, smarter than everyone else (he thinks he is), presiding over a terrible economy.

    Like GHW Bush, he presided during a bank (S&L) crisis, and rode a very high job approval rating to something much lower. And he's going into an election with the economy in recession.

    What do LBJ, Carter, and GHW Bush have in common aside from those things?

    There will be a total economic collapse the next presidential term. It doesn't matter who wins.

    Legacy will be preserved if obama is not relected..not a great one, but not the guy who will collapse everything.

    Yes. Whoever is at the helm at the current time will get most of the blame. What will happen is that the fed will have to change their monetary policy. They're going to wait until after the next election to do anything major. They can't continue printing money (or they can, but it will just inflate the currency) or they'll have to raise interest rates. Basically what you see happening in Europe will happen here, but on a grander scale and the chinese will not bail us out.

    Take a look at the economy and the country as it stands now. We're in much worse shape than we were, most people don't know it yet.

    Romney, unlike Obama, will probably be able to handle the pressure of the impending doom. Maybe not manage it, but at least he won't fall on his ass like Teleprompter Jesus...face it, Obama is all flash and show, its painfully obvious he has no fucking clue to run anything...Romney, he's had leadership and business experience before. No one else on either side of the political party will be able to even tread water.

    People like barfo and jlprk don't realize that their sacred pensions are going to be worthless in a few years if we continue on the same path of spending.

    I hope they were smart and didn't depend on the Purple gang for their entire retirement, but I don't give either of them that much credit.

    Wrong, I believe its inevitable. We've created too much money through the FED's monetary policy and built up way too much debt to be sustainable. We owe too much, we aren't producing and have too many entitlements.
