Following his defeat at the hands of Yushin "Thunder" Okami at UFC 92: The Ultimate 2008, UFC veteran Dean "The Boogieman" has requested and been granted a release from his UFC contract. Lister was 4-2 in the UFC with wins over Jeremy Horn and Alessio Sakara. Horn is perhaps best known for being an assistant coach to Tito Ortiz on the Ortiz vs. Shamrock season of The Ultimate Fighter. Lister is supposedly interested in signing with Affliction or fighting in Japan. Like Matt Lindland, his fighting style isn't exciting but it can be effective. Lister has amassed an 11-6 career record in MMA.
