Does anyone know a good spot to check out the show this weekend? I'd pay to watch it personally but trying to avoid long duration in extreme weather conditions and expected traffic.
The weather is supposed to be scorching hot and the airfield with all the cement is even worse. =( I live about about a mile south of the Hillsboro Airport and we can walk over to a gradeschool and get a pretty good look. The cool thing is the jets can fly directly over our head here while at the airport they are always out over the field. About 5 years ago the Oregon National Guard F15s did a full AB turn right... and I mean *right* above us. All the car alarms in the neighborhood went off. RE traffic... even if you choose to park and go to the show... you may be able to turn off 26 on Jackson Schoolhouse road and get to parking the back way as opposed to following all the signs. Google the Hillsboro Airport and ponder it. The parking is south of the airfield near the fairgrounds. The corner near brookwood and cornell is the worst of the traffic and they shut off brookwood (shute road) from like 26 to brookwood. I would just brave the heat (bring hat, Blazer of course) ... drink and bring lots of water and deal with the traffic and watch at the airfield. That is the best spot though you can still see a lot anywhere near the airport.
