"The subtraction of Kevin Thomas from the Indianapolis Colts' equation means a training camp question still lingers: Who is starting at cornerback opposite Jerraud Powers?

The Colts traded Thomas to Philadelphia on Thursday, opening up a spot in the defensive backfield. Offseason additions Justin King and Cassius Vaughn appear to be the front-runners.

The Colts have a crowded secondary with 11 cornerbacks, most of them young and eager to prove themselves. King sat out part of Friday's training camp practice at Anderson University with a slight hip flexor.

Powers, a 34-game starter in three seasons, said he spoke with Thomas, who was upbeat about a new challenge with the Eagles. But in a reminder of how quickly things can change, Thomas' No. 21 jersey has already been given to King."
