Back in 2007 and 2009 the team raised ticket prices -- with the loss of Roy and Oden, combined with an inept management and poor scouts, will the prices go back to pre-2008?
They raised prices because of this teams 'future' with superstar Brandon Roy and rehabbing-but-will-be-back-stronger-than-ever Oden -- we don't have anything close to that now.
The Blazers did not raise prices this year. I finally hit my 10% discount so I actually get to pay less for next season!!!
If they continue to play poorly there is no doubt in my mind that the sellout streak will be over. They may have to lower ticket prices.
Winning makes the biggest difference, but all of the problems in the press did present a problem. Prices have increased every year for a while and demand will no doubt be lower if a major move is not made. I would see renewal in the 300 level and courtside being the same with some dropoff in the 100/200 level. I would not be too quick to write off the sellout streak though. There are plenty of ways to sell tickets and all sellouts are not created equal in terms of the revenue they generate.
The streak is already over.... the did the same shit in 2004-2005..... they flat out lie about attendance.
You flat out dont know what you are talking about. EVERY team gives away tickets to clients, charities, etc if the game is close to being sold out and they have tickets remaining. It's tickets sold... not how many people show up.
'Rip City United' is the motto for next season. From 'Uprising' to 'Rise With Us' to this... As long as Chad Buchanan keeps making bonehead suggestions (he is a puppet for Miller but he is the head scout) this will be a tough sell for any in-the-know fan.
I know four people who will not re-new their tickets and two of them based it on the PA selling the team. But I'm pretty sure all of them based it on the bleak future.
