Dwight didn't kill him....Dwight made accusations that plenty of other people have made as far as his win % being exaggerated. Dwight is a dumbass and tried to call this guy out. Who do you think knows more about the inner workings of the NBA? A former ref or a washed up Portland journalist......?
Donaghy is an expert on the NBA. Why hasn't anyone hired him to do a radio show? Why doesn't Portland beat all the other cities and do so? Sign him up and watch the ratings skyrocket! Not only is he an expert on the league, he'll also get ratings from haters calling him! The radio station can't lose!
Better yet, let him do 'color commentary' on the games. You'd have your play-by-play guy; your color guy breaking down the players and the coaches; and Donaghy breaking down the play of the refs. That would be classic. I might actually buy league pass to watch that.
Stern could stop that, but he couldn't stop my idea, unless the radio station were one which is licensed to run the play-by-play games. Then he could get the team to not renew the contract with the station.
Yeah, I know. Reality bites. What would also be fun would be a "Mystery Science Theater" deal showing a replay of a particularly badly/crookedly officiated game, with a shadowy Donaghy figure in a seat in front of the screen dissecting the performance of the refs.
He could do Rod Serling. Donaghy has an accent that sounds like Philadelphia, so he could pull it off. "You're traveling through another dimension -- a dimension not only of gambling and arranged results but of fooling some of the people all the time, all the people some of the time, well never mind, it's only a half hour show. A journey into a wondrous land whose orders from Stern are that of imagined fairness. That's a signpost up ahead: your next stop: the Foul Zone!"
