As for the rest of the roster. There were a few guys that had some moments like Ramon Galloway and Tim Quarterman that also might get a D-League invite, but it's hard to say. They just weren't consistent enough to standout and that's going to hurt them. Unfortunately, with Ewing not giving out any hints in post game and no announcements of anybody signing a contract the most we can do right now is wait for announcements.

Nice. This 6'6 PG stinks of potential

I like his shooting stroke (even though the motion is a bit stiff), seems like a willing defender, athletic.

    Good job Neil.

DX's Josh Riddell didn't seem too impressed with his shooting stroke. Wonder if Simmons' presence hindered his improvement this past year...

Does this mean we're giving up on Montero?

    Training camp fodder.

As for making the team, he won't see a quarter, man.

Sometimes you can get good players off college teams whose stars overshadowed them. For example:
    Robert Pack
    Eric Snow
    Alvin Williams
    Jermaine "JYD" Williams.

BUT: you have to wonder why, if LSU had 2 NBA players, including the #1 pick, the team sucked.

Quarrymen, but don't let that squash your excitement.

(Somehow I see Tim Q ending up like Pete Best. Just so long as he's not Stu Sutcliffe.)

This has me wondering if Portland is going to acquire a D-League team, because it would make a lot more sense signing people like this if it was to secure them for that team.

Probably the most likely candidate. Waiving him and inserting quarterman gives us an extra 300k in room until we hit the lux tax too. So might have done it to offer harkless an extra 300k in starting salary without hitting lux tax land.

But... why do we need to REPLACE Montero? Because we can't do without his amazing contribution? And if we want cap space for Harkless, wouldn't we wait on signing anybody?

We dont have to wait. Its not cap space per se, its just room until you hit the lux tax dollar figure.

They must have seen something in quarterman they liked, and the only way the 300k applies is if we sign an undrafted rookie. So no reason to wait if you see a guy you want.
