The former Oregon State and Jefferson High star's time with the Timbers was short and highly disappointing. The forward never seemed comfortable and struggled in new coach Caleb Porter's system during the preseason. When the Timbers brought in French striker Frederic Piquionne for a trial last week, Mwanga sank further down the depth chart. "With Danny being from Portland...it made this a very difficult decision," Timbers general manager Gavin Wilkinson said in a written statement. An Internet report indicated the Timbers may sign Piquionne to a contract soon. The Timbers received a first-round draft choice in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft in exchange for Mwanga. http://www.oregonlive.com/timbers/i...ny_m.html?utm_medium=referral&utm_source=t.co
I had a feeling he was on his way out. He just doesn't look like anything special on the field at all. Good luck to Danny in Colorado.
