Wow, great comeback by the Wolves. They didn't lead the game for 42 minutes but suddenly in the fourth the Hornets were struggling to keep a lead. Garnett looked like a sprained his ankle early in the fourth, but kept playing through the pain. It was a great game, Madsen was clutch. He grabbed a couple of key offensive rebounds and hit 2 big free throws to give us the lead for the first time in quite some time. Cassell of course led the way in the huddle, got a key steal, made a very clutch 3 to tie it up after Baron Davis hit one. It was a seasaw game in the fourth, and neither team quit. At the end, Cassell scored 24 points, and grabbed 6 assists. Sprewell was hot from the field, scoring 26 points and basically kept us in the game. Garnett had a usual game, except he didn't have that great of a night from the field. Garnett ended up with 22 points, 14 boards, 4 assists, but shooting 9-24 from the field. Hoiberg was also very key in todays win, scoring 11 points off the bench and grabbed 8 rebounds. Madsen ended up with 7 points and 6 rebounds. On the other end, Baron Davis had 22 points and 5 assists. Jamaal Magloire had 14 points, shooting 5-7, and had 3 blocked shots. This game was very fun to watch, it could have went either way. Box Score
Sounds great, I wasn't lucky to see it, but from you said I regret it, sounded real entertaining. I'm just happy for any wins our teams put up.
PJ Brown is the only player that can guard KG without alot of help & be somewhat successful. But that was a great game. Everytime the T-wolves would cut it 4 or so it seem like the hornets had answer thru the first 3 quaters. The reason I think the t-wolves were able to pull out the victory was when Robert traylor pick up his 5 & 6th fouls because Miller & EJ had a hard time keeping him off the board. Another big move was Flip putting spree on Baron Davis. He started the game with trenton Hassell guarding him, when the t-wolves werent playing zone. But when Flip switched to spree he made it really hard for baron davis to get his shot off especially fron 3pt land. but I mean really it came down to the fact that the t-wolves big time players(KG,SPRee,&Sam) just refused to lose in the 4th, they just kept fighting. But the one thing that scares me the most about the t-wolves right now, is the fact that trenton Hassell cant shoot. I love trenton Hassell Defense. But he got to start knocking down 15 foot wide open jumper on a consistent bases. Teams play off of him & give him that 15 footer all day. The t-wolves offense will be so much more dominant when he stats to hit that shot. Teams wont be able to over play on the big 3 if Hassell making that shot. I think Hassell is going to be a big part of how far this team goes because of his Defense. But he cant be a offensive liability. But anyway great win. tonight is the big game, I wil be glued to my TV.

Trenton Hassell is shooting a solid 44% from the floor. He isnt a Wally or Fredy but he will make them when the Wolves need him to. Honstley that is a unfair statement. He is an intrigual part of the Wolves defensive skeem and doesn't demand the ball. Terrible statement.

Terrible statement.[/QUOTE] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I watch just as many games as you do, so I was not just judging off of one game nobody ever guards him. His shot is aways open & it very inconsistent. And 44% is not a good shooting percentage for the amount of shots he takes. The less shots you take the higher your percentage should be under normal cases. You cant have to players that cant score on the court at the same time.It makes it alot easier on good defenses. You know that the t-wolves arent going to get any offensive production from their center spot, so you need trenton Hassell to knock down that wide open 15 footer. When Fred Hoiberg is in the game knocking downthat 15 footer wide open the t-wolves offense flows much smoother because you cant run over to double Spree, KG or Sam. Teams use Tenton Hassell defender as the guy to send over as the 3rd person in defending the Cassell, KG pick & roll. Well when KG or Sam swing the ball over to Hassell he has to knock down that shot. If he doesnt teams are going to keep sending that 3rd player to defend the pick & roll. The Pick&roll is your main offensive play in the half court. So if teams can stop it, it stops your hole offense basically. And you dont have to tell me how key trenton hassell is to your defense, that was the first thing I typed.
I would love to argue this point but your assumption and anaylsis is so stupid and retarded I rather not engage in talking about it. Stick to what you know and talk about 90% of the time, Sam Cassell. Edit - Actually LATELY he has been really stuggling, I will give you that. 1-5, 1-7, 1-3, 0-1 arnt good numbers by anymeans. But before that he was 2-5, 6-9, 4-8 4-5. He is clearly going through a tough stretch right now. However... You are talking like he is detramental to the team with his shooting. He has no games where he shots over 10 shots. You could say Sprewell needs to shot consistentally better as well. He has games where he goes 0 for ## from the floor but i dont see you over critizing his shooting percentage. Hassell fits his role perfectly and was a great acquistion for the Wolves system.

If you dont think teams are going to use the fact that trenton Hassell cant really shoot as a tool to beat the t-wolves, when he is playing major minutes, then you no less about basketball than you think you do. If Iam so retarded just watch how the spurs send 3 players to defend the Sam Cassell/KG pick & roll tonight. Watch how many open shots trenton Hassell gets wide open. He has to knock down those shots cause if he doesnt the spurs will contain your most deadly offense weapon. So you just watch the game tonight, then we will discuss this tomorrow genius. By the way count how many open looks he gets, cause I will. I know alot more about basketball than you think, not just about Sam. Maybe you should take some time to go thru some of my post that have nothing to do with Sam, you will change your mind trust me.

What are you going to tell me next? That Garnett doesn't steal the ball enough or something? Obviously Trenton Hassell is gunna get open shots, and we realistic T'Wolves fans expect him to knock around 40-50% of those shots down every night. But you obviously feel he should shot the 6-7 shots he takes at a 60% level. Like I said Trenton Hassell is in no way a dentramental part to the T'Wolves playing skeem. Could he help more? Sure. You act like if he has a few off nights, like more NON SUPERSTARS TEND TO DO, he is the worst shooting player in Timberwolves history. How bout Bruce Bowen, why don't you scroll to the Spurs forum and tell them how much Bruce Bowen is hurting the Spurs chances. The fact is not every player shoots 50% like Sam 'Perfect' Cassell. 44% is a good number for what the Wolves aquire Hassell for. DEFENSE. We do not depend on Hassell for scoring, that is what Garnett, Cassell, Sprewell and eventually Wally are here for. We clearly need some guys who want to pass back to the Stars like SAM and Garnett.

I never said Sam was perfect. I can say alot of things that are wrong with Sam's play. And I never said Trenton Hassell has to become a great shooter. I just said he needs more consistency on that mid-range shot that defenses are giving him. You cant go 2-3 for 3 games straight & then go 1-something for the next 4 game span all year long. It hurts the consistency of your offense. I would like you to go & look up the games where trenton Hassell shot a decent % from the field. I bet the Wolves scored over a 100pts in all or most of those games. Why because when Hassell is knocking down that shot with consistency defenses have no choice but to keep a player on him. Leaving KG & Sam's pick& roll to be guarded by 2 players not 3. No team in the league can guard that pick & roll without triple teaming it using trenton Hassell's man.
I give a lot of for instances, they just happen to be funny. I gave you the benefit anyways that Trenton Hassell has really be struggling. Yes he can improve but for my last post in this arguement, it is in no way effectivly hurting the team. Period.

Period.</div> It isnt hurting your team as much as it will because your still winning. But come playoff time & teams are able to adjust and create situations where Trenton Hassell's inconsistent shooting can be used against the t-wolves. You will start to see the effects a little more clearly. And I would just like to say that I know the additions of Hoiberg, Madsen, & Hassell are just as big an addition as Sam. They are willing to do the things Sam Isnt. Sam isnt a great defender. But Hassell, Madsen & Freddy hoi all go full steam on defense. And If you go back to a thread in the basketball forum called the "best & couple of worse" made a few days ago. I praised trenton Hassell as the "best underatted Defender" over my second favorite player K-mart only because I know how important his defense is to the success of the T-wolves. I seen the way he guarded Vince early in the season, I seen how he guarded Pierce when He played you guys after scoring back to back 30pt games. I have respect for all of the role players on the t-wolves. And this is my last post on this subject as well.
