Never said anything about not being able to evaluate them. Thats my point, actually: people are evaluating Chauncey while you're making comments about "the board" finally finding a coach we like if we "keep swapping out coaches" which makes zero sense.

Seems like an average-at-best HC. The rosters he has been given have put him in a less than ideal situation, but his situational coaching has been underwhelming to say the least. If we made the playoffs, I have no faith that he would outcoach the opponent. I wouldn’t fire him because bringing in another HC with this roster would be pointless
If I were a gambler I'd bet big that Chauncey won't win coach of the month all season ...that said if he keeps these guys playing like they have been for two games, I'll eat Chauncey crow again.

I'd wonder for what the expiring contracts of Nic Batum + Robert Covington work (lol.....geeeezuzzz the long-time-no-see-welcome-back irony would be strong), but it would depend of draft compensation Philly doesn't have one of their own first's available till 2030. They did get a couple of first's from the Harden trade; see if you can figure out that 2026 pick: would Philly send that 2028 first + two expiring contracts for Grant? Would Portland accept?

No idea if this month old trade rumor is connected to the new Grant trade rumor to Philly? The trade was centered around T. Harris + 29 fr pick swap for Grant + salary filler. Harris's large salary is expiring at the end of this season, opening up future cap space for the Blazers.
