Time to replace my Galaxy Stratosphere ll phone. My wife just got an iphone 5s, but Apple seems to be up to their neck in lawsuits over false claims and anti-Android tactics like losing your texts if you switch back to Android later.

    I can get the i5s w/16gb for $99. I can get a Galaxy S4 w16gb for free.

Anyone have opinions of either phone?

I use it mainly for calling and texting, checking my email. Not interested in playing music on it or viewing videos, or using any apps I have to pay for.

The iphone Facetime feature seems it would be very useful when I'm checking out properties for clients who are not with me.

S4 is a firestarter, literally. Stay away from iPhones imo as well. You are paying for the brand. Google (android) has a free App called hangouts, which also offers free video chat. (Just make sure you're on wifi) I like the nexus 5, and a nexus 6 is probably not bad either.

I've had the HTC one for the past two years and have loved it. Will probably upgrade to the s6 soon though

Verizon has the only worthwhile service here in Beautiful Central Oregon due to limited area coverage by all competitors, but my wife brought her iphone home yesterday, made one call, and now it won't call out. She has spent hours on my phone with customer service to no avail.

Yep. But if you're on WiFi, knock yourself out.

get one with WiFi calling. Its not available yet on Verizon I believe but will be shortly. It'll help out on those areas where there is poor cell reception but there is a wifi hotspot.

Not sure if the Verizon Galaxy S4 will have it. I have one on Sprint and it does have the Wifi Calling feature.

Go with an iPhone 6+ or a Galaxy Note 4. Get insurance on it and you're good. They are bigger phones but they are great. You can do video calls using google hangouts on Android or Skype.

I guess you can go for a regular Iphone6 or Galaxy S5.

Since all cell phones are made under forced slave labor conditions in 3rd world countries in order to further empower their foriegn corporate tax dodging overlords, I think a REAL american would vow to go phoneless.

    Forever.

I haven't had a phone for a couple of months. Haven't posted here either.

I was strongly considering the MOTO X, as it was the only phone actually Made In The USA, but Google shut down the factory this year due to overt slavery having been outlawed in America. Apple designs the iphone in the US but that is all they do here. Supposedly they will build macs here in the future but it remains to be seen.

As a Realtor, I am forced to have a cell phone. It is frustrating that the billionaires who own the companies are soul-less, morally-depraved, baby-killing traitors who have never had to work up an actual sweat to be so blessed. I can only hope someday one of them steps off a curb and gets squashed by a gypsy cab.

This is the America that Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush and Obama have created for US.

All I hear from you are excuses as to why you continue to support the sworn enemies of REAL americans.

Clearly, if your job requires you to embolden the evil slave masters of industry, you have chosen a job that places you at WAR with REAL americans. You are the enemy of a free and prosperous country. And I feel sorry for you that you must deal with this self betrayal every time you look in the mirror.

So, Verizon finally got my wife's iphone5 to work tonight about 9pm. Only took them 3 days. Going to wait a few weeks and see if she has any more issues before I decide what to get.

WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST GO INTO THE VERIZON OR APPLE STORE TO HAVE THEM FIX IT RIGHT THERE?

That's who fucked up setting it up in the first place. And when we got our previous phones there, I actually had to teach the CS guy how his product worked, not the other way around. And I'm no tech-whiz. Most of their help are former car salesmen between jobs and have very little actual technical knowledge.
