Time to worry about Stanford?

Kevin Hogan is gonna remain there, and it's evidenced that Shaw is no scrub in coaching. And with OSU on the rise if Riley can keep this consistency, the North is going to be loaded.

    Worry for Oregon?

Im not to worried. Ducks played as bad as they could have, had every break go to stanford and it still took a missed fg in OT to give stanford the win.
As long as the ducks continue to have strong recruiting classes and kelley and mariota stay we will be fine. Im more worried about the beavers then standford but neither one is going to have the talent to match the ducks for a few years.

No worries here. We will be as good as we can be.

While others have kept pointing to USC as Oregon's big rival for the Pac 12, I've been saying Stanford. A few years back they significantly reduced their academic requirements of incoming student athletes that greatly increased the pool that they can draw talent from. Harbaugh rode that wave of new talent to the NFL getting a lion's share of the credit, but the kids have kept coming since. A Stanford degree is worth quite a bit, and they've tip-top facilities... I expect them to remain a major player.

Why are so many people acting like this is a Ducks apocolypse, that we were "exposed"? Whatever, we lost a game. Everyone except Notre Dame lost, and Notre dame almost lost to a much worse team.

They had a bad game, it happens. Move on. Whatever happens happens, but the Ducks could beat any team in the nation on any given day. If they lined up against Stanford again next week the might destroy them.

Stanford has a beautiful campus in a safe area, top 10 academic school in the nation, a bright coach and great facilities! Yes they will compete! That said, next year we'll have a southern FG kicker that kicks 50 yarders in his sleep!

Didn't know this. Do they have some kind of prep school like ND and the academies, or did they just drop their GPA/SAT standards for athletes' admission to the school?

I have freinds that played at Stanford and it's common knowledge that these guys once on campus don't ever go to class, they are there to play football, classes are taken care of! Take it for what it's worth!

A clear rival? Absolutely. Am I "worried" as a Duck fan? Hell no. As others have said, I still see that game as an outlier.

I don't think it's actually that beautiful. The campus is flat, and they don't even water the grass under the palms that line the entrance, making it look very odd in summer and fall.

Palo Alto has an amazing climate, and the campus academics are through the roof.
