Tito Ortiz has confirmed (in an interview with The Fight Network) that he will face Lyoto Machida in May and then leave the UFC. "UFC is caring so much about the brand itself,"? said Ortiz. "They could care less about the fighters. Fighters are a dime a dozen. They'll keep coming. Dana is really out for himself and the company. He doesn't give a shit about the fighters."
Well 2 disgruntled fighters so far, Tito + Couture. 1 that has been successful recently, 1 hasn't done much. I thought Tito was a fav of Dana's, just because he let him coach a season of TUF.

Dana burried their disagreements to let him coach (probably because Spike TV wanted it) and resigned him to the UFC. For several years Tito wouldn't fight Chuck for the LHW title and it was only after Randy took the belt from Tito did Chuck get his shot at the title and then Tito. Tito had a clause added in his new contract after coming back to coach TUF and fight that he would get a boxing match with Dana (who is a former boxer) some time during his contract. Dana ran with it and they had a special on Spike TV showing Dana training for the event and following Tito. Apparently Tito either thought Dana could embarrass him in a boxing only match or wanted to be paid for this fight he asked for since it was going to be shown as a special on Spike and Dana said he wasn’t getting paid, it was a ‘sparring’ match. Tito never had the fight and the 1 hour special made him look like a punk. Tito is a ½ fraud IMO and doesn’t really want to fight tough fights unless he is handsomely paid and uses that excuse to avoid fights he could lose, hence his willingness to rematch Ken SHAMrock (a man who is a total fraud IMO) because it was easy money for him. Tito has tremendous skill but he fights like Tim Sylvia most of the time, he fights not to lose rather than fighting to win. That’s why he’s the master of the Lay and Pray doing just enough to get decision wins rather than trying to finish fights. If Tito was committed to being a great MMA fighter I’d root for him but I think he’s more dedicated to being a well paid fighter, actor or whatever and I hope Lyoto ends Tito’s UFC career.
