TMac has been my favorite player since he had come into the league. And so since TMac has improved from his Orlando days and plays very good defense(when healthy), would you put him in a bidding for 1st-defensive squad?

The guy is leading one of the best defensive teams in the league is putting decent Def. #.

So.........you think he has a shot?

Definitely not. Battier yes, but McGrady isn't really All NBA First Defense material. There's a lot of defensive specialists out there that are ahead of him in that category. Some of those guard forwards include: Shane Battier, Ron Artest, Bruce Bowen, Quinton Ross, Josh Howard, and Paul Pierce.

they will most likely count him in as a guard so Battier and him can both make it..

He has value on the defensive end just because of length and quickness (though quickness has diminished quite a lot). Certainly, he's a better option for us defensively than, say, Luther Head.

But, no, I don't think he's deserving of any defensive awards. He coasts too often on that end. He gets a pass for it from JVG, because he has to carry the offense, but that doesn't make him a very good defensive player.

where would you guys rank him amongst the league's top defenders?

i've pretty much been watching Laker games so i don't get to see TMac play as much.
