Now, in an interivew with a Philippines newspaper, TMac says there was no rivalry between him and Carter. Vince "was family", he says. Rather, he says, it was that Toronto is "another country" and "I didn't want my daughter going to school in Canada". Playing with Carter and the other Raptor vets was a great experience, he adds. </div> Source
Why would'nt he want his daughter to go to school in Canada? It's just an excuse for him leaving because of Vince.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting antonyo09:</div><div class="quote_post">how good would the raptors be if both stayed in toronto</div> would tmac have developed? would vince want to leave if he took the spotlight at the time? tmac and vince both out with injuries? who knows, but if everything would have went well then they could have been the best duo in the nba easily
It's funny that these ignorant atheletes downgrade Canadian education and systems when there's absolutely nothing wrong with them.
^ I agree, the Canadian education system is not that bad... I think this is just another lame excuse, he left VC and that's the story.
Why's this in the Nets forum? Anyways, I'm not buying it. Canadian education is better than American in many ways and Toronto is about as "American" a city as you could find. I think he still had a lot of built up resentment for how he was treated as a rookie.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Chutney:</div><div class="quote_post">Why's this in the Nets forum?</div> Probably because VC is on the Nets?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting hustler:</div><div class="quote_post">Probably because VC is on the Nets?</div> Yea, that makes sense, I guess.
It's not the education, but more the difference in environment between Canadian and American schools.
I think it's more for TMac's career than anything else. He would have been in the shadows of Carter if he stayed in Toronto. It's not that he didn't want to play alongside Vince, it's more of establishing his own name. And I think he did that.
His daughter is three years old today. He left Toronto 6 years ago! Yes, that was certainly the reason...
