Hey guys.. loooooong time. Sorry I havn't posted for like a year or so. Took time out of my busy sched to check out JBB. I was just wondering.... There are always trade suggestions floating around and all, but a lot of people are also content or happy with the way our beloved rox are going. While we are playing great, it is obvious that we are not a championship calibre team... Though neither were the '99 Knicks (*ahem Van Gundy*). Sorry I've got something in my throat. Ok, so the JVG Knicks didn't win the title, but they could smell it an inch away. My point is whether you think we should trade or not. OBVIOUSLY, we will down the track, but I'm thinking short term (before the trade deadline).
We should at least keep Alston as a backup PG if we acquire a good/better PG with Head/Wells. I would hate trading either of those two, because Head is great, and Wells' stock is at an all time low. How about Shane Battier + Bonzi + Sura's contract to Atlanta for Zaza Pachulia (PF/C) will give you 13/7 and Speedy Claxton (PG) http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/trad...ams=10~10~1~1~1 Worked in ESPN trade checker Battier + Alston for Zaza + Claxton works as well, but I don't like really like either trades. Only reason I suggested trading Alston is becuase a lot of people want him out of Houston. I think Battier is here to stay, so I am wasting my time. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for Wells or Alston.
I would guess that it would not be something Atlanta would want to do. Just because they are strong at SG/SF/PF (Josh Smith, Marvin Williams, Joe Johnson, Josh Childress) but weak at PG/C. Losing Zaza who can play C, and gaining Battier who can't wouldn't be in there interests. As well losing Claxton (a PG) for Bonzi a SG/SF. Zaza would help Houston's depth at PF/C though.
I'm going to say...no trade....when healthy I really like the makeup of this team.....Bonzi is probably the only one who I wouldn't mind seeing go, but if he can ever get in shape, then I say keep him.

Damn man, I haven't seen you post in a long time. Hows it all going? Personally, I think the team should take a cautious approach towards trading our guys. While we aren't exactly on the road to winning a championship, in my opinion, we're very close to it. Thus, there really is no need to call for the trades of our players everytime they brick a shot or make a bad play. Rather, I believe the organization needs to work to make sure we get players that have low risk and at least decent reward (very hard) since we don't want to add another cancer to the locker room after the incident with Wells. With that said, some players that I think can be tradeable assets are- Alston, Wells, Sura (who wants him though), Howard, and Snyder. Hopefully, if a deal gets done, we get a solid starting point guard or big man in return. Personally, I think Lucas III can hold his own as a backup point guard when given the minutes, while Snyder and Wells is pretty interchangeable.
Personally, enough trades please. Every season we shake up the team even though we actually have a good thing going. Carrol Dawson is/was a good GM but he just makes too many damn moves! Sometimes I think you just need to be content with what you have and when they are actually given a time to gel, there will be benefits. We're winning with this team so why mess it up? Think about it, this team hasn't been together for that long and yet we're actually a pretty good team. If the players were given more time to actually play with each other, whats going to stop us? The Spurs, the Pistons, made changes but only to their bench or to the less significant parts of their lineup but they never shook it up when they were winning. I have so much to say but I don't know how to put it words so I'll just shut up now. I'm actually worried that being influenced by Dawson, Morey will make another move and get rid of a core player then the Rockets will have to start with the chemistry thing all over again..

If we get another undersized player, then we just threw away our season. I'd suggest somebody like Turkoglu from Orlando. The guy is PERFECT for our team.
Okay, well I i'm gonig to answer my own question, I'll say that we shouldn't trade. We DO have a good thing going, and though we may not seem like a championship calibre team right now, the team chemistry is developing. We are yet to see what could happen in the playoffs. Head, Battier and Wells can quite easily step up and one of the could become that ellusive 3rd scorer. If i were to place my bets, it would be on a healthier, fitter Bonzi because he's proven he can score in the past.
I'm not sure, but I think the Nuggets are attempting to unload Nene. If so then we should look to get the big fella. He's comin off a injury and hasn't got any PT in Denver. Since Denver is lookin to unload some salary cap, they'll prolly give him away for dirt. Is it possible?

Also, he's not the kind of player we need. Strictly post player; where will Yao play?

He would take alot of pressure off Yao as far as physical play, and let Yao rely more on his finesse to be effective.

I just hope JVG and Bonzi can get along.
