The Chicago Bulls and coach Tom Thibodeau agreed on a four-year contract extension, the team announced on Monday. The deal is "very close" to the reported $18 million deal Scott Brooks signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder over the summer, a source familiar with the situation told ESPNChicago.com's Melissa Isaacson. The four years are on top of the option year the Bulls picked up on Thibodeau for the 2012-13 season.
Another nightmare avoided.... Great news. Thibbs is a very good coach, though it does remain to be seen how flexible he can be. I have high hopes, however. I like his emphasis on the team out there, and letting Derrick focus on his job of getting well. KC says 46 wins. I'll take that, but stick with my 50. I'm almost excited about the season, now.
I guess a front court of Deng, Boozer, and Noah should produce some victories. Hard to believe Thibs had to go for this long to get his contract.
