Am I right in saying that he hasn't signed an extension? Does that mean that he's a FA at the end of the season? Because, if so, I would be all in favor of going after him. I admit, I enjoyed a lot of the new offense after so many years of grind-it-out Nateball, but I think I'd be happy to go back to grind it out if we were actually relevant. Thibodeau took a team that was a scrape-into-the-playoffs team to one that had the best record in the league. I want me some of that.
In the past couple of days? If not, then you are mistaken. They've continued to negotiate quietly since fall when the extension was announced.
http://thenewsportsguru.com/nba/chicago-bulls-resign-coach-tom-thibodeau-to-four-year-extension Chicago Bulls Resign Coach Tom Thibodeau to Four-Year Extension… October 1, 2012 by Josh Pacheco The Chicago Bulls have given coach Tom Thibodeau a four-year contract extension through the 2016-17 season.
Apparently the guy never signs anything, he just has his agent do it. Dunno how he gets away with it but he already agreed with the Bulls, just because he didn't sign it doesn't mean anything.
Huh. So when I heard some announcer say he hadn't signed an extension, what he didn't say was that his agent had?
Doesn't sound like Money is an issue to him but Environment/Fit/Players. So if we can't just throw money at him why would he come?
He signed. The NYPost article is in error. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/...h-tom-thibodeau-fastest-coach-twitter-kcjhoop
This is all steaming from an article came out that talked about Thibodeau just not signing stuff. Doesn't mean he didn't agree to the contract and the contract is void because his name isn't signed on it but its just something he was quirky about.
I'm prepared to believe that he has in fact signed. But: 1. It's the Daily News, not the Post. 2. Your article is from October last year. 3. It doesn't say he signed it.
http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/227052/Thibodeau-Signs-Four-Year-Contract-Extension He just signed.
Well, I guess that means he hadn't signed before. He would've had to present himself as a colossal jerk not to have signed after obviously coming to agreement. But it's weird he didn't just do it last year. That's kind of jerk-y in itself.
Apparently there's some bad blood between Thibodeau and Gar Forman over the dismissal of a trusted assistant of Thibs'. Should we go after Ron Adams?
